Believe

Must everyone confront the sin in their lives?  What is the component built into our superstructure that allows the impact of the wrongs we have done to continually pester us?  If we are autonomous, disconnected or men, made simply from complex chemical interactions over time, shouldn’t we be free from conscience?  Isn’t the discussion of this attributable guilt the largest single point of argument between those who believe in worship and them who claim to be unencumbered?  Doesn’t how each religion deals with the issue of sin differentiate their path and subsequent appeal to a particular audience/following?

And if so, where did it come from this palpable resonance of our past ills?  Does my sin matter?  And if it matters, am I obligated to take some action to correct it, atone for it, or smooth out past ripples in my psyche or karma?  After all isn’t that why men invented the concept of atoning for past life actions through reincarnation into another form?  What if we only have one life, doesn’t that elevate the concept of accountability for my sin to paramount importance?  If I only have one change to fix, correct, remove, relieve or dispel the constant nattering of my burnished conscience, doesn’t that provide ample reasoning for the creation of all works-based religious pursuit?

If I am capable of “working” off the penalty of my sin, then don’t I have to define some measure of productivity or achievement adequate to abolishing the implications prior to my life exit?  Can’t I take, let’s say,  thirteen steps, to completely remove the implications, impacts and weightiness of all my sin?  That is the nature and difficulty of this discussion, where did the conscience come from and am I empowered to alleviate the authority or pressure it applies to my life?  I must indicate that each person must settle these answers for themselves, some choosing to ignore, some to embrace their sin, some to pursue an endless cycle of trying to be good enough to counterbalance the impacts of their transgressions against fellow humans.

Having this discussion is relevant, important and frankly unavoidable.  I am here to say that God provides the answer to this dilemma.  He provided the conscience so that we would know that sin is wrong and be consistently reminded of its corrosive power.  He provided the reminder of our deficient nature, but He also loved us enough to provide a path by which we may be cleansed of this unrighteousness.  He told us that this is a one way path, this life.  We only get one chance, one chance to make mistakes and one chance to correct them.  But He also tells us that we are incapable of freeing ourselves, cleansing ourselves or atoning for the impact of our sin.  Just as a rabbit may not free itself from rabies, we are incapable of removing the viral, bacteria of sin from our blood.

Praise be to God that He sacrificed Himself on the cross to atone once and for all for “ALL” sin.  Every person who has this internal debate and comes to the realization that God is sovereign and He provided the “ONLY” path by which sin may be removed from our account.  Then and only then is belief, salvation, redemption and sanctification possible.  We cannot reach heaven by our good works, because we cannot remove our own blood illness.  Therefore since this is a blood illness, it may only be corrected by a spiritual “transfusion”, cleansing our blood by replacement with “pure” unadulterated blood of Christ Jesus.  The price of this cleansing is “belief”, belief in God’s Plan for redemption through Christ Jesus.  Pay this price and be free from the heavy and lasting impacts of sin, for eternity.  Believe and be saved.

The King

Father please change me, for I cannot bear the one thing I often cannot escape, being stuck within my own intransigent flesh.  I fumble through the tears of shame, cowardice or self-recrimination to remember, Praise Your Name that there is no further condemnation for me in Christ Jesus.  Father, they are so worried, forgetting hope and victory, merely relegated to simple survival no matter what craftiness it requires.  I pray that we remember before it is too late that our everlasting and endless reserve of hope, courage and victory is found only through relationship with You.  Thank you for reminding me to pray for my enemies.  I often simply wish they were gone, it is good to remember that men are for salvation, until they have demonstrated their choice to be counted merely sterile branches good for fire alone.

Will we stand in the face of adversity, especially that moment where our own deaths appear determined?  Do I have the faith, knowledge and surety that Your Plan for my life, whether I can see its twist and turns or not, is the best thing for everyone concerned?  I have seen you make wrought iron into butter and liquid harder than steel.  Do I run from the testing, the tempering measure or do I embrace the Potter’s Hand, willing, wanting, craving transformation, finishing, refinement in the kiln of humanity?  People wanting peace shall find it in short supply as days unfold.  They will cry out for a savior, a human savior, swearing allegiance to the indwelt of God’s enemies.  They will cheer their creation, while mocking the Most High, sealing a fate that was never meant for any of us.  Only the remnant shall escape judgment.

Although it may seem that the chosen have dissolved, dwindled or turned to dust, even now they remember their place at the feet of God’s throne.  We will see a day, one unlike any other that man has ever captured.  God’s Grace has flourished and soon we shall see His unfurling and righteous wrath.  For too long evil has prospered, counting itself filled with prideful knowledge, denying God’s promise that all sin shall be judged.  Many of the innocent shall be martyred as evil men seek to make themselves large by consuming the small, defenseless and weak.  Who will defend them.  Why, God of course.  Every drop of their blood will cry out to the Lord for vengeance, and vengeance every deed shall receive for eternity.  So many ask why God allows bad things to happen to good people and I say that we shan’t assume that since He defers or delays judgment that He will forget these transgressions.  Even judgment is His prerogative, it will happen in His timing, when all the days of the gentiles and Jews have been counted complete.

Pay heed my family of Christians.  The time for preparation is upon us for the signs of God’s coming are readily visible on the horizon.  It is day, so work, for night will soon come, where none may work.  I pray for our leaders,  God’s mockers and the enemies of all that is Holy, to come to righteousness before the free power of choice is taken from them.  God grant us peace, even as war, pestilence, poverty,  hunger and illness rage.  Let us see through the smoke, cloud and fog to the Light of Your Wondrous Love.  Praise Your Holy Name, King Jesus.

Decision before wisdom

Since, as Solomon elaborated in God-given wisdom, “There is nothing new under the sun”, why then should we be expected to chase every “new age idea” as some life-giving epiphany?  Conversely, since there are no new ideas, should we be consumed by regurgitation of the eloquent few, those having been gifted by God to reduce complex thought to palatable content?  Is there a choice that allows all to feel free to ponder, build upon and embrace trans-formative ideals while remaining adherent to well-established, foundations of philosophical contemplation?  Absolutely, it has simply been obfuscated, confused and concealed in riddles, ironies and falsehood by an enemy who must avoid clarity as the only hope to success.  The answer, and if it bristles your sensibilities then you may wish to investigate the level of your misunderstood rebellion, the infinite knowledge of creation provided in the inerrant, infallible, Sovereign Word of God, the Bible.

There is no wisdom but that which comes from God.  Certainly, usurpers, copycats and hybrid thinkers have always attempted to claim that they have invented an idea, concept or science, which has not been previously documented in the Word of God.  The enemy has but one option, to convince everyone through misdirection, LIES or egoistic benefit that they have perhaps come up with the next big answer.  However, close investigation and review will always demonstrate that any idea may be traced, documented and directly accounted for in the writings of Holy Spirit inspired scripture.  Why then won’t scholars do the work of disproving this reality?  It is simply that to do so would in fact clearly establish the existence, sovereignty and correctness of the Word of God, thus disrobing their emperor’s house of all self-created and perpetuated cloaks of decadence and falsehood, revealing their sandy foundations.  Why subject ourselves to the untenable position of maintaining our own illusion, when the real foundation of the Rock of Ages is there to support us even in the world of temblors?  Pride alone is the answer, thus it is the root of all sin and humility the beginning to every salvation.

Just as this discussion of wisdom began with Solomon, we will end with another elaboration from those august books he penned at the behest of Spirit.  The beginning of wisdom is fear of the Lord.  This idea has been confused, misused, avoided and prostituted by so many because it is a concept, which when understood, provides direct connection with the mind of Christ.  The Lord is the holder of all wisdom, He invented it for our edification, therefore He is the repository of every cogent and good idea.  Without the reverent fear associated with humble understanding of one’s created position, we cannot go to God in authentic request for dispensation of discriminative ability.  I must approach the throne room of God with reverent fear by first accepting that I do not make the rules of a universe which I neither created nor sustain.  God has said that the only path to His relationship is through the door of Christ, through belief in what He declares to be “absolute truth”.  We all understand the power of condition, the “if/then” statements of reasoning, yet we refuse to comply with God’s conditions for salvation, peace and acquisition of wisdom.  Try reading proverbs 2 and you will see that the Lord gives us the recipe for discernment, yet we neglect, refuse or deny this ready access because it requires “humility and surrender”, two concepts that are entirely foreign to the fallen rulers of the planet.

Lord, Your Name be Blessed as it should be above every name.  Jesus, the King of Kings.

His

Indeed, there is freedom and life eternal through surrendering to the power of Christ’s death, resurrection and eternal life.  What happened at the cross was for every man.

Isn’t this man a model reminder of our calling to disciple and ambassadorship?  In my mind’s eye I  see the cross and Christ beyond it with arms open wide beckoning each us, “Come Home”.  Each time the enemy tries to capture my focus, diverting, pestering, nattering, or appearing as a swaggering dash of light, hoping to obscure or mislead my worship and prayer.  But, I know the voice of My Shepherd, the Lord, and others voices, waving hands or even shimmering angels fail to lead me astray.  Not because of my strength, my worth, my ability, but because the Holy Spirit seals me for eternity.

The players are gathering for their grand push to unseat the Sovereign Lord, but even now the cracks in their decadent armor are evident.  What shall happen to them when battle begins, oh, that is right, the Bible says that they will be vanquished, banished or captured in an instant by the Word of God.  They know the script and see it unfolding, just as it has been written, and they have rehearsed it differently, always hoping that when the curtain rises they will somehow be allowed to ad lib.  How deep my arrogance, pride and my consuming sin, that it would have led me to judge the savior.  You see, the outcome would have been no different if it had been me interrogating, punishing, judging or jeering at the savior, that passionate night.  For they are me, and I they, if not but for God’s call and intervention, I too would stand now in defiance.  Grace separates us and that Grace given by God as freedom form the prison of my poisoned humanity.

What then does Appleseed have to do with our continued victory.  One man intent on spreading the life giving hope and deliverance of the Gospel through travel, growth, kindness, patience and toughness.  That cannot be for those qualities may not be present in the same being all at once, they are anti matter are they not?  For we were not meant to be shy but physically capable of traveling great distances for truth’s sake.  We were not meant to be shy but gregarious in our love for Christ, telling all about love, our testimony and victory.  Oh yes, glorious victory, even in the midst of overwhelming odds, hunger, poverty or circumstance.  Like Johnny, we are to plant seeds, the seeds of God’s Glorious Word, leaving the outcome to Him, as He appoints, anoints and sends others to water, fertilize, tend and harvest the crops for salvation’s sake.  This is the job God has given me.  I know not those who have accepted and come to our Savior.  I only know those that I have met have received some measure of seed, planted in earth, hoping for good soil.  Do you see the importance of all planting something, for nothing grows without seed.  This is the work, the joyous work of seeking the lame and lost for salvation, healing and eternal life.  They may think us odd but in the end, God’s Kindness overwhelms their uncircumcised hearts.

How then shall I be remembered, I truly care not, if they recall simply that I served Christ, I was affiliated with the Lamb of God.  For in leaving this, even as my only remembrance I will have succeeded at the greatest purpose I may have possibly been assigned or undertaken.  I would like to be remembered well as Johnny was, giving care to those who would otherwise be intimidated, misunderstood or harmed.  It would be nice to be thought of as a man who always tried to pass on the access to growth, especially in bearing crops of fruit throughout the ages to come.  Care, joy, love, kindness, discipleship, commitment to Christ, these are the fruits of a man fulfilled.  Let us all feel the joy that comes with sonship, Lord my God, I pray.  In Jesus Name.

Happy to serve

Where there is pain there is opportunity for healing and peace.  In hope lies the belief that cure exists.  This life is not misery as many paint it, but rather the opportunity to win and lose so that we may become refined through passion, pain, recuperation and time.  The fire quickens, the Holy Fire baptizes and the eternal fire displays constancy as a reminder of what must be done before the last breath of Earth.  So much pain that my eyes cannot consume it fast enough to keep up with the flowing tears.  I look away, not to hide my fear or shame but so that I may recover my courage to look again and see the pain of reality tainted by sin.  Evil may not be avoided, escaped or ignored, it requires resistance, acquiescence or allegiance.  There is evil in the heavenly realm that surpasses our human capacity, a priori glorificado, we were subject to fearful control, now we may exercise courageous knowledge of complete and completed victory.

This world is the place in which God wants me to serve His Will, a vessel, a conduit, a willing participant in the experiment of man’s struggle to rekindle relationship with God.  That is the mystical pondering, it is not whither God exists, but do I have the gumption to call Him Lord, Father, Friend?  Oh, passionate misery spent in desirous escape of God’s ever present Spirit.  This is foolishness, yet we who see, respect, fear and obey truth are soundly ridiculed for disliking flux.  Firmer foundations may neither be found, secured or acquired through clever trade.  This thing is beyond man and that strikes the chimes and sirens of fear in our controlling hearts.  But it is entirely about man, which puzzles, infuriates and confuses most.  For a love of someone undeserving that love we have been given all for the price of simple acceptance.  Glorious bounty and abundance given timely and mercifully without ransom.  Knowing fully that what we comprehend is simplistic imagery, contemplated as a child wonders about the sky, vacuums, sun and weather.  Service is easy, taming the raging egoist seated at the helm, entitled in his pride, utterly unimaginable in its complexity.  It is only through reminding myself of Him who I am meant to reflect that I may overcome this berserker and at His hand I am made again in peace, thankfulness and calm.  All for the love of Christ, just as He gave all for me.

Fear not the kings, criminals, seas, storms or calamities of pestilence and war.  For we have been given a savior who commands all these things and bids them to be silent.  It is for His coming that we wait, not for some episodic relief, but for coronation of eternal King.  Peace for a thousand years is only the beginning, the first steps in coming Kingdom.  Is poverty a death sentence, is infirmity a complete loss, is imprisonment the end, is hunger final, when all shall be rectified by the first moment of sanctified glory in His presence.  None of this matters except you.  For it is you that God loves.  If this world gets to be too much for you to bear, look to the heavens and call out loud the mighty name of Jesus, victory is assured.  If I may be of any encouragement, consider me your servant.

Sovereign

Why doesn’t God stop bad behavior and enforce compliance and committal to the good?  Would it suffice to say that I do not know?  Maybe, but most folks want an honest, sincere answer when pursuing this line of questioning, although some may just be attempting to throw an unavoidable obstacle in the path of coming to Christ. I will take an attempt at answering this question from my heart.  Simply it is about love.  God’s most prevalent characteristic, the one facet that may be most widely used to express God’s motivation for everything that He does, is LOVE.  He loved us when He created us, shaping us in His image, to reflect our relationship, surpassing time and space.  He loved us enough to kick our predecessors out of the garden of Eden before they ate from the tree of life and sealed their fate for all eternity.  He loved us enough to pronounce a path to salvation, born of the woman, so that someday we might be saved from our error in allowing sin to torment us.  God loves us enough to never leave us, never forget us and make good on every promise He ever made to humans.  God loves us enough to allow us to choose to love Him, freely, never forcing so that our choice is truly one made without duress.  That is why He never forces because then it wouldn’t be love.  If your Father told you that you had to love him, would you?  We shouldn’t be confused that since God is allowing this behavioral choice for a period that He will continue to allow these liberties or ethical relativism to continue forever.  He has also promised that He will rule and that within His Kingdom, sin will not exist and that Christ will rule with a rod of iron.

Did God design this world such that everything eventually decays or was it perfectly created without corrosion, a corrosion called death, that was allowed into the mix by complacency, cause and volition?  We all die, all grass withers, mountains erode and rivers become fettered with silt.  Change is guaranteed, and with it the ravages of time upon all things which consume or process air to live.  That is the permanency and preciousness having been built into this life, since the moment of the original sin.  Who knows what God intended originally for the life of man, perhaps He designed us to live forever from the outset.  Maybe, just maybe, the limitations we must rationalize and confront make this life more valuable.  If we had forever from the beginning, how could we be trusted to use it wisely?  I am resolved to believe that this life has an end so that we understand the ever present need to make a decision for or against God through Christ.  We must have an expiration date, a time limit, a countdown or each of us may never get around to making the most important decision incumbent to this testing ground.

Apparently, from review of scripture and subsequent matching to current events, it appears that we are significantly close to that expiration.  This creates a sense of urgency in my heart, hoping beyond hope and prayer that everyone will rationally make a decision for Christ and be saved.  Evil may have raised its ugly, consuming head, but it shall never prevail as God has foretold.  This Earth will face tribulation, aimed at turning the hearts of the Jewish People to the Lord, as they must eventually come to the full knowledge of the mystery of the Church.  There are many things that I may imagine, opine or ponder regarding God’s nature.  These things I have resolved to simply accept and move on, for just as my mind may not fully comprehend infinity, so is the understanding of God.  But that does not mean I may not fully comprehend His intention for my life as He has taken ample time to convey this direction through His prophets, apostles, teachers, preachers and continues to remind me each day through guidance of His indwelling Spirit.

I love God and He loves me, that is simply enough to fill the emptiness that once occupied my worldly purpose.  My salvation is through belief, and belief alone in the Gospel message of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ upon Calvary’s Cross.  I do not fret so much about this world, but I do have great concern for its people, as God loves them.  May I pray for you?  Please let me know how I may assist in any measure.  God bless you in your quest to find purpose in the world and the next.  May you find peace and strength in Jesus Christ the Lord.

Limits

There are boundaries to everything and everyone in this life, except that which is achieved through Christ.  The Bible tells us that it is appointed to all men once to die.  This is the destination of all men, big, small, wicked, smart, poor or rich.  Even the richest man in the world still has a number assigned to his wealth, it is hard to imagine several are approaching the trillion dollar number.  We can only lift so much weight, jump just so high, run only so fast, fly only so far as our fuel will allow and stay awake for only as long as our bodies/sanity can sustain wakefulness.  We only have so much control over our lives, people and science.  We can only ingest so much alcohol, drugs, food or water before it causes deleterious health effect or death.  My point being that if it is eternity, overcoming all or achieving the impossible then we must seek to do so through our relationship with Christ.  Eternal life, overcoming scientific laws and abundance may only be done through the power of the Holy Spirit, by God through Christ.

There are limits to my freedoms as well.  I cannot continue in my own self gratifying behavior if it infringes upon the lives, health or welfare of others.  I cannot yell fire in a crowded building when there are no flames or evident smoke.  I cannot take what is not mine without repercussion and I cannot save myself from sin and death.  I was in bondage to all my sinful persuasions until Christ set me free.  I cannot simply declare myself emperor when there are people who do not wish to be ruled in such fashion.  Anything that I do which appears that I have thrown off the limits of human decency requires that I subjugate the will of those around me.  All men have limits, unfortunately it requires that free men often stand up to them and explain this fact through the use of convincing might.  Likewise God’s enemies are limited.  They serve God whether they like it or not and are powerless without His permission.  All creation is under God, whether they wish it so or not is irrelevant and also the implication that some created beings may choose to throw off the controlling reality of God’s Sovereignty is foolishness.  I cannot tell my creator that He has no control over my will when He never gave up the power to unspeak my existence or cast me into darkness, shame and imprisonment for eternity.

Men may wish that they had no end, limit or controlling parameters.  This is the nature of the difficulty with admitting God’s existence.  For if God exists then I am limited and also must understand my place in the hierarchy of the universe.  Additionally, since God exists and His people continue to state the truth of His promises both for salvation and judgment then I must destroy His ambassadors to have even the false hope of denying His authority.  This is the calamity, plight and fallacy of freedom taught by God’s enemies.  They twist this unavoidable truth, thus prompting, promoting, allowing and justifying the creation of false realities, which must be sustained, maintained and propped up in order to remain effective.  However the truth remains even when a fool dies his made up world expires alongside him.  Though some may carry on your expressed foolishness after your expiration, the truth is you no longer exist to maintain the lie, even though God continues forever.  So even though you convinced yourself for the extent of your life, the truth shall prevail in your death which is far more permanent than your brief existence in humanity.  Which is better to have lived a lie for a short time and then cast into the truth for eternity, suffering, punishment, separation and anguish for eternity or suffering the mockery of men here on Earth while maintaining the truth and then spending eternity with God, your beloved friends and family in realization of that same truth by which you once lived?

The way through

It may have happened hundreds of years ago, but the Christian population does not currently pursue inquisition, forced conversion or sweeping military movements to force “submission” to our faith.  Yes, historically, powerful men, seeking complete power, utilized, hijacked or controlled a peaceful message, spoken by God, into a dogma that justified their misuse of Holy ideals to garner, capture or ensure their continued grasp on territorial, national or global interests.  Yet, even though these obeisances and egregious hijackings of Christianity were centuries if not thousands of years in the past we are still pursued, hated, maligned and labeled as “intolerant”.  And conversely those political, religious and national entities that are “currently” killing, torturing, pursuing, raping and forcing innocent people into forced conversion at threat to life are being allowed to continue their rampage without the same labels.  Alternative lifestyles may face scrutiny and disapproval in God’s Word but they are met with slaughter by the rabid, radical and absolutely “intolerant” laws and actions currently spreading across a wide swath of global topography.  Which would you prefer, a group that loves you yet disapproves with your lifestyle choices or a group that hates you for your lifestyle choices and threatens or actually carries out on threats to kill you for those actions?

When tyrants rule the nation cries out in misery and terror.  This is the history of humanity, and I use that word loosely for we have never learned or evolved into something other than avarice, brutality and intimidation to capture wealth and power.  That was the intention of America, to create a nation that would forever be free of the strangling threat of rule by tyrants.  A nation, blessed by God intent on living by tested ideals, principles and morals, proven to foster the continued health of any nation.  A nation, born of free people, with the intention of seeing a world free from tyranny, accepting those intent on escaping its grasp.

You may see recent revisions, encroachments and intentional erosion of these freedoms as simply harmless, but those of us who understand our founding principles see them as an organized strategy to usurp the power of the people and transform this nation to tyrannical rule.  What then is worth fighting for if not for the freedom of people to make their own decisions regarding sin and redemption, freedom to speak their minds, even when their ideas are unpopular or perhaps considered ridiculous, freedom to live free of the unmerciful hands of tyrannical rule?  If we have become convinced that tyranny will simply vanish if we are pleasant and offer them convincing discussion, then we have become blind to the nature of tyranny having forgotten the cost of blood to free us from its consuming grasp.  I say these things to call us to prayer for this nation, as God alone may free us from this current movement and returned health, direction and prosperity to our faltering path.  Depend on God, Christians and Jews alike, humble yourselves and cry out to God through prayer and He shall hear our voices from heaven and heal our land.

Can you see a storm on the horizon and if so what will you do to ride it out or avoid its powerful passage?  Will you perhaps hide, hoping beyond logic that somehow you will spared?  How do you know that you will certainly not perish in the storm, who knows that you were born for such a time as this?  Would you rather possibly perish in hiding or perhaps help others to survive by taking an active stance, leading others to safety, away from thirst and hunger into peace?  We cherish stories of people who helped the threatened escape tyranny, defiantly resisting, doing the right thing when to do so would potentially cost them life, liberty or station.  Our heroes are those who stood by their God given principles and did what was right in the face of certain, absolute self destruction.

How then now have we transformed to worshiping those embracing violence, those embracing avoidance or those who through self-absorption, remain disengaged to the advances and wicked influences of tyrants?  The power of our freedom lies in the voluntary decision to potentially sacrifice our own comfort to defend the right of others to live in freedom.  This is the story of our Lord Jesus Christ who modeled for us sacrificial love, giving all for others that they might see God.  Will we emulate, emancipate, cooperate to stand for these ideals, no matter what the cost, leaving the outcome to God?  I shall not speak of the alternative for this is a story of victory beyond circumstance, where defeat is impossible.  All things are possible through Christ who strengthens me?  There is victory in Jesus.  Begin to comprehend the power of God to defend, strengthen, overcome and deliver, for this is the power of Spirit living within you.  Praise God in Jesus’ Holy and Mighty Name.

We knew

I would love to sing uplifting, encouraging music about our dedication and sacrifice for each other, forgetting ourselves for the benefit of our love for Christ.  However, to do so I would have to overlook a generally indifferent, self-concerned, non committal, lethargic at best group of believers awaiting harvest.  It is not sufficient for me to point my finger at others performance, comparing and declaring it lackluster when held in comparison to my own.  We all must turn a blind eye to our own shortcomings, just as Romans 1 declares that unbelievers will do when ignoring the truth of God.  Shall we compile and construct a house of cards, erected with the delusions and self-fulfilling deceptions we have orchestrated so that we may exonerate, justify or explain away our own unwillingness to disciple, feed or help the poor, fatherless and ill?  Can we honestly say that we are doing what Christ asked of us, nay commanded us?  I must say that I have and continue to fall way short of even the minimal mark.

What would Jeremiah say to and about our beloved nation?  Would he commend us for our generosity, our vigor for life, our commitment to fostering the next new technology?  What would he say after having attended a service full of joyous believers, dancing from the catharsis provided by the ear splitting rock-like worship music.  Would he applaud our palsied attempts at supporting orphans, widows, the homeless, imprisoned or gravely ill.  Would he see us volunteering at hospice, hospitals, orphanages, widow’s homes or down at the soup kitchen nightly sharing the gospel with those to be fed?  Would he be surprised at the millions of dollars spent upon air conditioned churches, with expensive carpeting, exercise facilities and child care wings rivaling the local elementary schools?  Would he condone and support the sales of DVD, CD’s, Pictures, books and memorabilia in the atrium of our churches or like Christ over turn some tables?  What would he say to our leadership, considering themselves saviors of our society, thinking themselves knights of the modern age?  Or would he declare us in danger of judgment, warning us to repent as a nation and be saved or face the coming wrath of Almighty God?  For that matter what would any of God’s prophets say to us as American’s after viewing our daily behavior and rituals?  If this doesn’t stand the hair up on your neck regarding a resounding fear of the Lord, then you should be very afraid for you are either too arrogant to see or have been turned over to your own decadence long ago.

The Lord’s Word says what it says for entirely understandable reasons, as this world was created by God not any one or group of us.  It is His plan, His world, His created beings and those who have been saved owe a special allegiance to Him for having been provided a method by which to be cleansed of sin and escape deserved and certain judgment.  That is not to say that there is a payment due beyond belief, but it ought to cause a change in people’s hearts, knowing that God cared that much to sacrifice Himself for our redemption.  In fact there all other ideals in this lifetime pale in comparison.  We must wake up or risk the slumber of an unconscious and lost generation of worldly Christians, having forgotten diligence, having forgotten the great commission, having determined that everything else in life is more important then the work God has given us.

True Nature

The central point of indecision, confusion and argument surrounds the inability, unwillingness or conversely the acceptance of the fact that Jesus is God.  You see if He was just a man, as the secularists would have Him portrayed, then we may dismiss His commands, direction, correction and Prophetic Word as simply the uncannily wise recommendations of a theorist.  Or if He is merely portrayed as the Son of God, as many revisionist religions teach, then He may be included in the segment of “many” saints or prophets sent to demonstrate God’s efforts to convince man of His Sovereignty.  Accepting Him as God requires a complete transformation of our path through this life.  You see, when God came to Earth, as a man, born of a virgin, He committed the ultimate sacrifice for His creation, while showing them how to overcome sin, death and tragedies past mistake.  God revealed Himself for man’s edification, familiarity and hope.  God showed us through example how we are redeemed to relationship with Him and the “only” way to prepare ourselves for an afterlife spent with a Holy, Righteous, Sovereign and Loving, God.  Only in understanding that Jesus said clearly that He is God, brings to light the anger with which He was received by a hypocritical clergy and the righteous wrath with which all men will confront if they do not accept His Truth.  For since He is God, He may not be ignored, making His call to repentance and belief a necessity for eternity, rather than just a recommendation of simply one more man in the midst of man’s historical philosophers.

Further complications associated with misunderstanding God’s Triune nature may be avoided by accepting that not only is Jesus, God but the Holy Spirit is also God.  This complexity baffles humanity allowing argumentalists to insert this misunderstanding as proof of Christian foolishness.  Let us not look to strengthen their quest by accepting their bait and involving ourselves in a mobius argument, fulfilling their desire to obfuscate the issue at true consideration.  For none of us may effectively comprehend God’s complexity for we are just men.  Faith is born in the acceptance of what God says as Truth.  When we accept that old testament prophecy said that God would come, then Jesus came, born of a virgin fulfilling those prophecies, we are then confronted by the absolute truth that we must choose to either obey, follow and believe or deny, disobey and turn away from salvation and relationship.  Jesus is the only way to eternal life with God, because He is God.  Therefore, everything He told us which must be done was explained to us, by God, declaring it unavoidable in man’s quest to find, know and be with God.  This also raises the soul shaking principle that we may not ignore the Holy Spirit’s conviction, correction and guidance in this worldly existence because we are then once again disobeying and dare I boldly postulate, perhaps blaspheming, God Himself?

Search the scripture.  Analyze it as Jesus told us to do.  Don’t just go get a book on the regurgitated perspective of some notable religious scholar.  Read what God said about His nature.  Read the first few paragraphs of the Old Testament and you will see that the Father, God, the Spirit, God and the Word (Jesus), God were present at the founding of the world. Read Jesus’ Revelation and find that at the end we will reside with the Father, Son and Spirit, just as the Bible began it continues past the remaking of this world.  Do not fall for misdirection thrown out there as bait to lure you away from the central question.

Will we accept the Word of God as truth, committing ourselves to repentance, belief and reliance upon Jesus or will we be led astray by whatever convenient distraction the enemies of God utilize to keep us from making the only necessary decision that must be made in the timeline of our mortality?  Jesus is alive awaiting our arrival through acceptance of the path He provided for us to be redeemed to God’s Grace.  That central concept becomes acceptable, understandable and viable only by faith in the truth of His Word.  That is why as the Bible states, in Hebrews 11:6, “without faith it is impossible to please God”.  For since, we are incapable of fully comprehending God’s complexity, we are left with the choice of either accepting His truth as fact through faith or denying it wholly/partially in and endless discussion that shall never be resolved in this life.  Do not take the devil’s bait of deception and endless argument, simply believe that Jesus is God and uncannily all falls right into place.  Peace and God’s Grace to you this day that we have been given.  Keep your eyes elevated to heaven.  For in focus upon Him all truth is revealed and all deception eliminated.  Praise God in His Sovereign, Divine and Infinite nature, in the name of Jesus Christ the King of Everything.
