The Words

http://www.wnd.com/2014/12/official-russia-plotting-to-start-war-on-israel/ If you don’t know about Biblical prophecy concerning Russia’s involvement with Israel, then please take a few minutes to read Ezekiel 38 &39 and ask your pastor about Gog/Magog.

Having just crossed the point of no return we long for sight of shore, but still have not come to grips with meters truth.  What then shall we tell our children of a tomorrow that does not exist within the scope of probability?  We have denied, ignored and chuckled as each warning indicated future’s folly, our guiding light.  What poor choices remain in the realm of suggestion, hoping desperately for the arrival of some charismatic leader to save us from a certain destiny, perhaps?  What then does the Bible suggest will be given us, a proud generation, wicked, lacking reason, faith or miracle?  Certainly, we shall be given exactly that for which we have rallied, cheered and demanded, independence from God, in the moment when we can least withstand His absence.

That which is yet to come for the purpose of fortifying our faith God has foretold.  Would it puzzle you to see that I worry not for the future of humanity?  To me there is no unknown, I am not at the mercy of that nebulous, chaotic realm of what is yet to come, to me God has made all things clear.  You see we have been praying for so long, “Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven”, without remembering in faith that God answers prayer.  His will is what comes next, for we have through negligence, ignorance and disobedience forgotten to seek God’s wisdom and counsel and thus face a future full of earned consequence for self service.  Yes, rejoice for the harvest approaches and the gathering of souls will be immeasurable, but also mourn for those whose time is shortly come in realizing eternal separation from God.  Lord, I cannot imagine my mind ever being free of that painful thought of my friends and family alike having missed the opportunity to choose eternity.  Forgive us Father, lead us to the protection of Your Righteous Shadow.

Jesus repeated that this wicked generation would be given no sign but that which was shown Jonah.  In review what did Jonah know about the future?  Jonah knew that God was going to judge a particular segment of humanity, a group of people that Jonah loathed, an undeserving nation, that God would see saved from His wrath.  The only sign that Nineveh was given was the Word of God delivered by a reluctant prophet, bidding them repent immediately, fasting in humility and beg God for pardon or they would soon be judged.

How is our circumstance any different?  Would the prophet Jonah look upon America with love and intercessory prayer or would he consider us a wicked, disobedient nation, guilty and deserved of God’s wrath?  If we are honest in our analysis and evaluation we can come to no other conclusion than we are the people of Nineveh who have only one choice left, repent and seeks God’s face in humility and prayer or face certain, imminent, inevitable judgment forthwith.  Toward the purpose of providing content amenable to those who do not count America’s behavior equivalent to Nineveh.  I then must ask you to place yourself in Jonah’s sandals for one moment.  Which country/nation do you abhor, for their wickedness, their unconscionable actions or their departure from Divine guidance?  Which country do you dislike so much in your own judgment that you would disobey God’s direction to warn them of certain judgment?  Then accept God’s command to go now and warn them for this is our charge as Christians.

For those who have ears to hear let them hear what the spirit says to the churches.  For them who will hear, repent and pray there is forgiveness, salvation and everlasting life with God found only in the Name of Jesus Christ the King.  We will be given no sign other than the Word that God gave to Jonah.  I pray that we head those words right now for the future is certainly upon us.

Having set a course that leads to abandon, we can now only hang on to face the rogue waves of our certain future or immediately, authentically and humbly appeal to the mercies of God’s Grace.  The choice remains, set adrift for eternity or attached to God, the Rock of Ages who does not waver, fail, fade or change.  We ought not seek the face of a worldly charismatic leader to bring us out of our self-imposed spiral, for this world will be given just such a leader who is the spirit of antichrist.  That foul, indwelt man will be given dominion over the Earth to usher in God’s judgment to produce nothing but the war, pestilence, famine and death reserved for the wicked.  Oh but glory be to God on high, that in His everlasting mercy this Earth shall be delivered from this unholy spirit and returned to the Righteous Hand of a Holy, Almighty and Powerful God who will rule in justice, strength and Righteousness forever and forever, Amen.  Come soon Lord Jesus, but if You may please tarry a bit, so that we might tell those who will hear of Your Glory, that they too might be saved.

Decided?

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.  Joshua 24:15 KJV

Am I sold out for Christ or is there still question about what I believe and which side I serve?  What are the names of the other gods to whom I pay homage?  Is there a chance that the Lord God will look the other way as I pursue this worship of idols and false divinity?  Am I committed to the people, the principles and the passions of God’s Kingdom or am I serving any interests that would steal from those potential investments?  I do not enjoy seeing these truths about myself, but remaining ill-informed, ignorant or in denial about my actions with regard to service to God is potentially eternally foolish.  This is a fool’s game to play with God, we should not trifle with the Lord.

Is my mind made?  If so, then do my actions, my words, my life indicate alignment with service to God through Jesus?  Am I creating disciples, studying the Word to show myself approved, caring in generosity for those who need help?  Am I voluntarily opening all the cupboards, closets and compartments of my life to the changing Hand of the Holy Spirit, or am I resisting sanctification?  Do I feel badly each time that I even think about sinning and does that “guilt” cause me to make decisions that align with God’s Will for my life?  Does everyone that I know, “Whom it is that I serve”?  Is there any question in the eyes of those who review my life that I am a Christian?  If so, am I standing here in fear and trembling or am I simply determining to remain nonchalant about my salvation?  What have I made more important in my life that my relationship and declaration of my eternal identity in Christ Jesus?

If the battle comes, there are many that will be left behind having not asked and answered these questions for themselves.  This is a personal decision and cannot be made by my parents, my wife, my friends, my ancestors or public opinion.  I will not get to heaven because everyone agrees that I have been “good enough” to be found worthy.  On my own behalf I deserve death for the sins in my transgressions against Almighty God.  So, let us dispatch finally the idea that any of us may earn, find or somehow produce enough good karma or works to be allowed passed the pearly gates of Heaven.  I will only be found righteous as God sees Christ’s Righteousness covering me.  I will only enter Heaven when God the Father sees in me evidence of indwelling of the Holy Spirit having baptized me and sealed me for eternity.  For me there will be no judgment day as I have already been found innocent in the eyes of God by Christ’s payment for my guilt upon that cross, two thousand, some odd years ago.  I have been redeemed, set free, reconnected with Almighty God through Christ.  Do I behave that way or am I still living within the corrupted flesh of the man I once was?  That question should frighten each of us and be a source of peace for them who can truly say that they are “alive in Christ”.

Expect

Remember the delight associated with realizing you had entered and followed through with your first Divine Opportunity? Do you recall that awesome moment, when the blinds came off, the veil removed and you saw God’s guiding hand specifically intervening through your life.  Do you remember the end of your belief in coincidence, when God for whatever inestimable reason chose to act through you to assist in rectifying a dilemma for a total stranger?  That memory allowed you for the first time to feel true fulfillment in a world where we all pursue it from one angle or another.  Today, I was blessed to have one of those days, where a sequence of events, seemingly incongruous or unrelated led to a series of introductions, conversations, encouragement, prayers and intercession for which the outcomes will only be discernible in Heaven.  Remember my last entry and behold, Our God responds to prayer.  He directed me to the right people to use my specific gifts in a Godly manner to assist some people who had briefly forgotten encouragement, hope and real loving kindness.  God reminded me that I do know how to love like a Prince when I allow Him to guide my thoughts, heart and words.

What dreams do you dream?  Are they of escape, fantasizing of “coming out” from your humdrum/unbearable worldly existence or are your dreams filled with things which have not yet been seen?  Do you remain in memory of the momentary gratification of your sin or does God show you the things that happened and how He must transform you to free you from the pain of your history?  Do you ponder the accumulation of gold, prestige, position or power?  Are you haunted by the hunger for the gratification of all the temporary splendors of this world or are you enhanced by momentary views into eternity?  What is the desired outcome of your requests to God?  Do you offer prayer to Him at all?  Do you trust the Lord enough to express to Him the desires of your heart, which He already knows but is waiting for you to share in faithful petition?  Are you full of big dreams or do you fear and avoid them for the decisions and change they represent?  “Be of good courage and know that I am the Lord your God” said the Lord to Joshua.

Please expect God to show up because He always will and watch for Him with a keen eye and a willing, responsive Spirit.  That is the magic as an unbeliever shall never comprehend, that magical joy which reminds you of your relationship to the King of All Universes.  The joy which overcomes even the most gruesome, unbearable ugliness that this world may present.  For we must be prepared to exceed those trials we shall undertake and this success is accomplished through relationship.  Remember and savor each time that the Lord actively guides, direct, listens, intervenes and shapes our experiences and interactions, for this is the treasure of our lifetime, which shall surpass the veil of death.  Remember the moments spent on Kingdom work and the people as they first heard the Gospel, bask in their excitement, for these people are likely among the treasures you are storing up for yourself in heaven.  Put on the full armor of God, His faith, righteousness, truth, salvation, peace and Infinitely Sharp Word so that you never wander or forget His presence.  Live in joy now so that others may see and wonder how you got there.  Praise God for His faithfulness, even when my fails His shall remain.  Jesus is King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

You wanted to know His will for your life.

Philippians 2

Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.  Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.  Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.  Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bond-servant, and coming in the likeness of men.  And being found in appearance a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.  Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

The Word of God is clear.  Yes there are mysteries, yes there are parables, yes there are directions written through the Holy Spirit that are hard to understand, but it is always clearer than the shallow, mountain stream at noonday.  It is humanity that seeks to obfuscate the truth in our quest to remain ambivalent, disobedient and under-engaged in the pursuit of honest faith.

We are to “be of one mind”.  Do you ever see this in the church, such that everyone is inclined to be dedicated to one direction?  We are to humble ourselves, not that we forget our own needs, but to the point where we are ever conscious to the need of others.  This was the mind that was in Christ.  Would any disagree that the Lord Jesus had more ambition or had set for him larger tasks to be completed that any of us?  Yet, he remained mindful of the needs of all those around him, even when he faced his inevitable and imminent death on the cross.  He did that for us.  Instead of worrying about his own mortality, he was busy washing people’s feet, feeding hungry bellies and wiping away tears of the mourning.  I most certainly cannot imagine myself emulating this example, but thanks be to Christ, I don’t even have to complete that task.

We must get our faculties together and quickly.  Any man not properly prepared before entering battle is facing the day dedicated to foolishness and certain failure.  We must become of one mind to get about the work defined for us in the Lord’s instruction manual, the Bible.  If we do not stand for righteousness then no one shall, for we are Christ’s Ambassadors.  Yes, God could proclaim His own Glory by making the mountains sing, but He has chosen Christians for this purpose.  If we don’t do it whether out of fear, misunderstanding, ignorance or rebellion, all will suffer.  That is why we are to be ever mindful of the needs of others because so much hangs in the balance of our performance.  A single ambassador can start war or instigate peace in foreign relations, a single ambassador can muster the allegiance and national commitment through well scribed word, a single ambassador can open the door to corporate disintegration through poor information security.  Each of us is a “single ambassador” for Christ.  Think on this and become serious about your challenge or accept the eventual conversation with the King about your lack of diligence.
