“It is Good”, He said after creating the world and the things of His Own Good Will. God believes this is good at its inception, because His reflection is upon all that was made. Pursuance of evil is a choice for anything Good may be prostituted, mutated, transformed or poisoned with the blackened intent of man or beast. Something pure and gentle may be captured, kidnapped, abused and killed without ever having done an awful thing of its own accord. Thus is quandary of power, as it has the physical authority to overwhelm the defenses of the Good to usurp its beauty replacing it with contortion or bastardization in resemblance to Power’s Hunger for rank.

Why be good, rather than choose your own pursuits for money, power, things and self-satisfaction as sold on every media outlet and in the schools? I mean isn’t it better to come out on top, no matter what, do what you have to do, dog eat dog, the strong survive? Or is this the mantra of man gone astray from its origin? God pronounced it good and designed a relationship between a man and woman, with power, authority and purpose, yet it wasn’t enough for our discontentment. Being Good is the ultimate expression of this robust life, for in that expression we are mirroring the reflection of God’s Purpose for our making. Choosing another path is far from second best, but is all to which it may ever aspire.

God Loves us. God made this world Good. God is good himself and calls us to be as He is. Why then do I imagine that I can fall pray to the wicked desires of my heart or the wounds placed upon me by those wounded themselves and expect that I will ever please the Lord? Being Good, feels Good. It is something unique in a world that has gone insane with its own lust for, MORE.  More of what you say? More of anything, driven by desires, intents, plans and direction given by any other voice than that of the Good Shepherd, God Himself. If we are to call ourselves one with God, Kin, then we must be good in our action and thought for to do otherwise demonstrates our lack of relationship with that which made us all. America was always Great because we were good, not because we were mighty, clever or worthy.  Alexis De Toqueville said it in the early 1800’s, “America is great because of the good word being preached from her pulpits” and “when America ceases to be good she will cease to be great”.

We were told by wise men, not of America, that the blessings we took for granted were something adored world wide. Why do we seek to become global when we have what the world has wanted since that mistake made in the Garden? We should remain being Good, by the Good Word that we are taught, meditate upon and integrate into our lives, for that is the most attractive and powerful quality America will ever have. Return to what is Good, Be Different, its attractive because it reminds U.S. of who made us. America is Great when she is Good. Help revive America, be nice, even when the world calls you to be mean, the rewards may not be obvious but they are truly endearing and enduring, to the Grace of God Almighty.  In Jesus’ Name.
