Inflexibility of age, driven by the ravages of time and stubbornness threaten my capacity of wisdom’s pursuit. Where are the dreams of youth as we progress in time’s hand, what becomes of the open and eager mind’s eye? Reluctant to give way to the sweeping hand of change, hope dwindles into a measure of its once captive magic.

Joints groan but mind pretends as gravity and incline demand things of it to which reality remains reluctant. Where is the limber deduction and open investigation of the man who one found wonder in all he perceived? Where is the child, gone, rendered incapable of communication with the man I have become or is it choice to relegate this wonderous imagination to the tortured hands of captain’s clock?

Whispers and dreams and a younger man’s schemes articulate above the sullen noise in timelessness. Windows and doors on ceilings and floors propel the possibility beyond realms of theory into solidity. What mounting waves of distant seas awakened shall overwhelm the banks of mind’s gone extinct in the desert of incapacitated thinking?

How shall a heart be made whole and pure without consummate observation and testing then measuring consequential evaluation? What fiery fears may be slain in the world of night real without courage training and mastery of emotional response to impetus whether emotion of spirit born? What grasp of fleeing enemy may be leveraged without hopeful understanding of victory’s authority? Where does a child find resolve and a man find access to the hopeful imagination so often squandered or repressed exiting youth?

Bring on the jump of immeasurable length with chasm as prize. Call forth the dragon and vanquish his fire that maiden fair finds love’s first grasp in the personage of a principled gent. What darkness may be lit, what fires quenched, what pestilence set to flame what advancing army squashed through the passionate dedication of men who believe? What world’s emerged from the encouraged empowerment of each believer determined to see beyond the edge of today?
