Chalice

What have we remembered or failed to forget? In its solemn place with happy face absent all regret.

All that I’ve encountered along the windswept shore. Leaves me with big questions forever seeking More.

I started out with gusto always being in the right, but ended up in patience refusing every fight.

All have found some wisdom having crossed through trouble’s door, some have run from what they saw and others asked for more

Comfort in believing and power in belief. No place left to run and hide when you truly seek relief.

Inside the credentials outside is all look, Never known true freedom unless our name is in the Book.

Happenstance has half a chance of saving us from fear, each promise drives us freely into what we need to hear.

All days just blend together and the nights just more the same, riding high or sitting shy it’s all within this game.

No blame for ponder’s wonder no saddle for my ride, He promised He’d return to us to make a happy Bride.

Each dawn is one more marble in the jar that nearly filled, each moment a new memory that’s for which we each are billed.

It’s all just contemplation and happy hopeful thought reviewing all the pictures in the package that we’ve bought.

These stars don’t last forever, as bulbs they all burn out, though living through forever is what it’s all about.

So drink upon the chalice, draft deeply quench that thirst, you won’t be the last to arrive there and certainly not the first

The power of non fiction is in the fact that it is real, it doesn’t matter the circumstances or how contrary that you feel.

The Lord is High above us but also in our hearts as we seek to rediscover the watch and all its parts.

In Loving emancipation we all will be set free to escape the plastic wrapping and see what we each shall be.

At the end of this short journey lays a road so often sought that cannot be earned as each is worthy and most assuredly never bought.

Misunderstanding struggles we fought then kicked and bit and realizing falsely that the wrestling would never quit.

But God had secured the Victory and we the testing ground please hand to me His chalice I’d love another round.

  1. very encouraging! I often wonder if these just roll off your fingers or if you struggle with the next set of words for meaning and rhyme. I’m sorry to admit that I don’t read every one as they are often rolled past by the constant barrage of unwanted purchase opportunities that stuff my inbox and I just don’t see all your work. But be assured that when I do I’m grateful for your encouraging messages of triumph. God Bless you Caleb.

  2. interesting…FYI, I left the above message at approximately 11:04 AM on 10/14/2020, but the headline says @ 5:03PM on the same day which is 6 hours in the future. Hmmmm, odd! But of no real consequence I suppose, in the scheme of things.
