Tried and true. We want substantiality, trustworthiness and a reliant basis upon which to base our actions and beliefs. How is that state achievable without weathering the storm, taking incoming fire or suffering the cold and the hot of pressures within the Kitchen? There is no easy way. Though path of least resistance is typically an option in most circumstance it constitutes some manner of victimization or slavery to situation that most find unpalatable. Our tastes better served by making choices we generally avoid conflict even to the point of empowering bullies or becoming complicit in the illegal over reaches of the administrative body under which we find ourselves in service.
The only way to true faith is a belief and then the trials of said belief until it becomes solid mooring against which we may secure the vehicles of life. If I trust something or someone that person or thing must have previously and repeated demonstrated through empirical testing that it would hold up under the external invasions, withstand the assaults of enemy intruders or provide suitable excuse to protect us from the normal demands present in daily occurrence. Without belief there can be no faith, without trial of that faith their can be no trust and without trust we are left wandering on the waves of non commitment never truly understanding the benefits of safety and relief found in comradery.
With God this requirement is lessened but still there and it is apparent in His Word that He expects a certain amount of testing and verification to determine His faithfulness. However with God, since it always, Yes and Amen, this process should be concluded shortly after it becomes clear that God never fails us. For those that continue to test God, refusing to deposit that trust in His account there must be substantial cost or lack of reward to accompany the reluctance to place trust in His immaculate devotion. Without trust in God we fail to have the close relationship with a loving Father, who is always there, always ready to give what is needed at perfect timing, leaving us again alone in a desperate world surrounded by clever and self serving appetites one of those being our own. Test God but find Him true and move on to a mature relationship where we understand our place in His Plan and delight in the privilege of our advanced position.
Trust requires courage. Without testing our armour, equipment, supply lines and relationships we really do not know how they will perform under the pressures of battle or the onslaught of daily circumstance. Maturity demands a rational understanding and process for establishing the trust necessary to amass the talent, power and supporting cast to truly take on the largest enemies or challenging facing each of us in the temporary existence. We must acknowledge the need for adequate and sufficient testing to swiftly determine the suitability of People and Equipment that we move on to the application of life’s requirement. Without trust we wander, stand still or venture into waters unprotected or become steely hard to resist even those friendly as would be attackers. This is no way to live an abundant life. There must be a modicum of trust within a healthy set of relationships. Perhaps the best method of establishing these supporting connections is to go to God first, establish that relationship and then utilize the subsequent discernment to rationally and spiritually examine all other potential commitments from that basis.
Do you trust God? Do you trust your own abilities or planning/execution? Do you trust others? Do you believe that fate is against you or that God will provide what you need exactly when you have need? Do you believe the stories you are told or avoid people finding them unbelievable? These are the questions that will dictate the road before each of us. We are only capable of doing so much on our own. Without the assistance and support of others we are limited within this life. Trust is an enormous benefit, but you must establish your own process for determining its existence. How do you establish Trust?
