If God demanded that we accept Grace and spend eternity by His Side would we? If He required our love and worship and set a tight regimen for us to pray at certain times per day would we love Him? If He remained distant, appeared only a threat against that day of judgment would we be in relationship with Him? If there were no changes in this lifetime, sanctification or transformation would we place all our hope and faith in that hereafter? What if there were no way for us to get rid of our sin, would we invent reincarnation that we might somehow at some distant lifetime become free from its curse? How do you believe the Jews are feeling since they have not been able to be free from sin since 70AD at the destruction of the Temple? Life could be much more difficult than it is. God loves you and gives you the choice to love Him Back. He provided the pathway to redemption and an end to the war between Him and Man, but it is all by choice, for that is the only place to find Truth, Trust and Love.
What have we invented to govern the people in our societies? Utopian dreams, nightmares of an angry, distant God or millions of gods in every leaf, tree or building? What have we carved from wood, stone or gold to sit on our mantle, at the doorway or in the garden to remind us that we are not alone and that some manner of fortune connects to the spiritual realm? To what have we given our children as offering for prosperity and posterity? What cruel rituals have we endorsed to set ourselves free from the curses of humanity in a world that seems fickle and unfair? What dark things occur nightly as obeisance to those in shadow for the quest of power and relevance?
There are only two schools; those who need God or gods and those who don’t. Within the school of those believing that there is a higher power there are those who humanize, demonize or fantasize about gods and there are those who have heard the Word of God and feel compelled to be obedient to those guidelines of the law and the prophets telling the story of what God has written. Someone has to be wrong. For those who do not need God I would ask them to investigate for a moment the motivations in this life and perhaps they will recognize themselves as the god of this lifetime. We all serve it is merely a question of the Matter; the who or what that we serve. In which camp are you? Someone will be fooled and someone right at the end of this play called humanity. I bet you think it is going to be you?
God intervened on behalf of men as we chose a road that led to destruction and self or service to the fallen. There was a chasm we could not cross that led back to God and Christ provided His Life as sacrifice to become the bridge that led back to Righteous Standing with God. God loves us so much that He leaves that door open to ALL who wish to be redeemed, by belief in His offer of Mercy and Grace. For it is in the choice that man can truly determine the nature of His acceptance and Love. That does not free us from the eventuality of God’s outcome, for it will come regardless of what we choose. It is just a treasure to know that God loves us enough to provide the way and allow us to choose that way or our own way. In Jesus Name I walk this path redeemed to my Creator and free from Sin, Death and Hades. Grateful.
