In the dawn of night long in coming, I saw what must be deemed peculiar. Man loving their fellow man reached down and picked them up from the infested ground and brought them to place warm and dry. Children found comfort in asking all those amazing questions puzzling their little hearts as adults stood watch ever vigilant that they might be in surety. Men stood ground with eyes upon the distance, frequently testing the pulse of today’s attitude in remembrance that the road is long and courage, hope and strength our only allies. Women sung bright tunes of light and life and love, the love that had been perfected in their heart time with God.
What than had this morn revealed? A dream, a hope or witness to truth of peace that man is yet to gather? How then may we call ourselves successful as Brothers starve, Mothers struggle and feces fills the street as men slumber the unrest of being detached from loving foundation? Am I my Brother’s keeper, certainly not but am I to disregard the fact that he has lost his way and I know the path to recovery? What is missing in man that we have great abundance of the tools that lead to self appreciation and storing of treasures for self regard, but miss the mark when those treasures growing fail to accommodate the starving or malnourished hearts of children within miles of our castle?
This is not some academic policy, meant as some grand new thinking to which we must align our mentality. This is the Love of God that He has shown each of us each day as we rise, each night we pray and the protection and life changing dreams of slumber. Why then is it lost to us used only by the convicted few or those called to service in missionary work that is rapidly dwindling to non existence? For the choice must be made to serve one master and one master alone and frankly we have chosen that god, the god of Self. I choose not to help with the assets given me by God because I would rather fulfill my plan for this lifetime eschewing the knowledge and tugs of God’s Call upon this heart. This is no new age thinking but the oldest thoughts of man, where we love God enough to love them enough to do whatever it takes to get them back to Him.
IN Jesus’ Holy Name.
