Good Times

My pain my worry, illness and strife, befallen my Daughter, Uncle or Wife. Though is viewed a stabbing knife, the surgeon’s hand guides it to save this life.  Do not be dismayed my friend, though you weren’t thinking of the implications when you took those steps that ended up putting me in predicament.  Nor fret about the enemy’s capacity to challenge our will, our courage and hope.  For we must be consistent in memories realm to ponder the implications of a Holy Promise, to use all things for good for those who love him and walk according to his purpose. Are you walking with him, do you love him, then even what you completely blundered, he will turn to good.

Please rebuke him Father, if it is your good Will to do so, for he has consumed so many, destroyed the others and spread discontent and malfeasance far and wide. But you knew these things before time began and that they now occur means one simple thing; that they all must occur in order for that great day of the realization of your Good Will to come about. Just as that day that the enemy hates where Joseph forgave his Brothers and saved Israel. Or the day when David refused to turn hand against your anointed and showed us your heart. Or that day when Stephen forgave the rock throwers before a waiting Christ standing to welcome him home. These things must have occurred, for the good of all humanity that we might see God’s Mercy, Grace and Wrath. Bad things happen that God might be revealed and in so doing we see that His Good Will always prevails even in the face of being thrown into a hungry den of lions or a seven fold increased furnace. It is in the furnace that those young men met Christ, they certainly knew him before entering, but do you think they would trade that day for any price?

I don’t want tragedy. I don’t crave some lasting burden nor do I hope for a grand test like the one that saints faced in laying down their lives to lions and bears in the coliseum. Do you think they liked God’s plan for their lives or that they imagined they would be sacrificed to suffer along with Christ? Of Course not, however, do you believe that sitting next to him in heaven this day that they would have for a moment traded that opportunity to die for the Good of the Kingdom’s Purpose or doubt in the least that their tragedy was used for the good of God’s Will?  Tell that to the millions of us who have been strengthened by the demonstration of Faith and Hope in Christ. We fear the tragedy, but in God’s Promise to use the tragedy for good we may have forgotten the absolute grace of tragedy, the joy of pain that we are healed, the mercy of being disenfranchised that the Good Shepherd might reach out and rejoin us to the Flock. I do not know what is coming my way whether difficult or perhaps easy blessing, but although important it pales in comparison to the blessing I am thankful for each time that the Lord walks with me through pain, tragedy, despair and helplessness, that His Love, Mercy, Grace and Power might be seen in my deliverance.

Praise His name for every thing he sends me. I pray Lord that I rejoice in your name and exalt you to the heavens in the midst of my greatest trial that they might see and know you as God.  In Jesus’ Name.
