This Day

Do you hear them proclaiming the Lord’s glory with every single chirp, warble and tweet.  Listen carefully to the song, all day long they tell us “God is wonderful”, “God is great” in their proclamation of thanks for the warmth, the water and the berries, nectar of the vine and flower.  How then do you perceive my song Lord?  Do I sing stanzas, cantatas and harmonies, lifting up your name for the ages to behold?  Do I give praise to all your characteristic blessings indelibly inked upon my heart?  Do I fumble through the litany of available words finding them inadequate to describe your Glory and my abashed representation or lack thereof?  If not worshiping God what then does my song include?

Sing to the Lord with all your might, power and passion.  Not carrying a tune but created a prayer, something similar to the crucial cry of the nightbird hawk.  How wonderful your pitch, perfect for the reason within the season, smelling of sweet cinammon and curried butter carried on the wind of the mornings calm.  Let me hear your heart, not just the words residing in the lobes of cranium, but the mysteries expressed only by the inner workings of hopeful spirit.  “I Love You Lord”.  And that love carries me, drives me, twisted and turned by the unseen breeze of Spirit’s call to fall deeply for you each day and dream of you at night.  You are the light, you are worthy of each and every fight, you are sight for the blind, salve for the worried mind, and faith for the friendless.  You are the call at dawn, the reason we are risen, forgiven, praising, is You.

For all that you are and that even which I cannot comprehend, I send my love in song, the voice of my heart, which your Spirit alone may convey, this day for You my King.  This day for you.
