Today was a good day.  How can you make that statement with no authority over its determination?  You mean it was only a good day because I determined, expressing my own authority to proclaim it so?  Let there be light!

We resemble the Lord, the Holy Trinity in so many ways yet we have enemies in self and sarcasm that continue to tell us how frail, palsied, finite, ugly, dumb, you get the picture.  This constant pressure, reminder and negative reinforcement causes to at some point accept that fate as our own.  I am what God says that I am.  Remember that.  Oh, you don’t know what God says that you are?  I am sorry let us look into that a bit.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.  Romans 8:35-39

The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? Psalm 118:6

The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. Psalm 103:8

Because you are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you, I give men in return for you, peoples in exchange for your life. Fear not, for I am with you; I will bring your offspring from the east, and from the west I will gather you. Isaiah 43:4-5

It is no joke that there are forces at play here on this Earth that would see us separated from God’s Love for eternity.  There are beings who would put us down to the point we fall and then stand on our backs telling us we are too unimportant to get up.  That is a LIE, it is a ploy a play a movie plot in this life meant to give us the struggle that leads us to crying out to God.  The only way to lose is not throw yourself at His feet seeking mercy, hope, help, salvation, grace and LOVE.  Love is what you will get from God each time you seek it.  He is a loving caring Father who wants us to be confident, assured and abundantly filled with His Spirit and the knowledge that He will always come to our aid, no matter what.

So, which will you believe?  The next time you hear that whisper that resembles your own voice or that shout that seems to be someone else’s, think for a second about what God thinks of you.  Remember He will never put you down, tell you that you are invaluable or castigate you for your inadequacies.  You can be assured that voice is someone other than the voice of the Good Shepherd.  He loves you and cannot wait to tell you so.  Some advice that you can do with what you will, but the next time you hear someone telling you bad things about yourself, tell to take to God who loves you so much He came to die so that you could be together for eternity.  Or just tell them that you only listen to one voice and unfortunately it’s not theirs.  God Loves you.  So do I.  In Jesus’ Name.
