So, busy trying to witness a miracle you don’t even see the one operating in you. What is a miracle, proof for your dwindling or germinating faith? Isn’t a miracle something outside the natural that astounds the senses by suspending disbelief? Don’t miracles offer those of narrow faith some manner of visible demonstration of those things which cannot be explained yet remain believable? Why are my instincts insufficient proof, yet I am supposed to trust my eyes, ears or tongue which may equally be reality fooled? Do I have the right to ask God to show me his wounds, so that I may dab my fingers and in with his blood become convinced?
You want miracles create them. Feed those that everyone else ignores. Love them who are too repugnant to be allowed into our ten million dollar worship centers. Father them who have been ignored by people seeking the right to eternal youth and celebration. Be son to them who have lost their own yet remain full of years, glory, grace and wisdom. Be good husband to woman who has never been loved. Be an obedient son to God, living Holy, seeking wisdom and righteousness and your faith knowing that God will provide for all your need. Forgive them who will never ever ever deserve such reprieve. Side with them who have nothing to give you when you champion their outcome. Believe in Christ who sent you to the point where you are able to love people without reason. Stand upon the promises of God, believing and being blessed without ever having seen.
The miracle that has always been enough for me is that God puts life within dead shells. Bringing once dead husks to abundant life, living for a purpose that was never imagined. I am used of God because I make myself available in a willing manner. Certainly he could leave me on the bench, that is his prerogative, but why? I mean he gave me skills to be used for his glory it doesn’t make much sense to then keep me sitting when he has work that I am willing and able to do with his assistance. Those who say that they are sitting around waiting for God to tell them their purpose are bent upon eternal excuse. All good things take wading into the water, starting down the path, attempting to scale the mountain, jumping from the precipice. We are not just automatons as unbelievers or pre-determinists would have us believe. We have free will and God has designed and equipped us for every good work, it is we who remain catalyst in our own divine successes. I am not saying that God may have each of us wait for a season, preparing for the appropriate time of action, to which He alone is privy. It is that most miracles happening within this lifetime didn’t happen all at once, they grew, they emerged as a satisfying and outstanding end to a process begun long before.
Let us each live the miracle of the live Christ has created for each of us born again. Let us walk into that episode not only joyous and astounding but also expectant and relieved. The miracle has already begun, it is so much fun imaging what yours will look like when it is fully revealed for all of us to see. Keep on walking for the Lord.
