Stages

Amazed by Grace, dumbfounded by the specific, relative efficacy of the Bible.  Although, God our Father, has no beginning or end, it seems that the Bible is closely structured around the three stages of the human timeline; the beginning, the middle and the end times.  As with our own passage through Christianity, the beginning segments of both the Old Testament and the New give all the spiritual guidance, understanding and training necessary to embarking upon a spiritual journey with God.  The psalms, proverbs and major prophets of the old testament along with the epistles of the New fully extend the meat of Christianity to the seeking believer, leading to maturity.  Then the minor prophets just as their counterparts in the New Testament tell of the times leading up to the end of days, all this is capped off with the Book of Revelation, the Lord Jesus Christ’s Epistle to the churches regarding what must swiftly come to pass.

So, it is incredibly easy to study the Bible based upon your stage of growth.  If you want to know about God, Jesus Christ, the Jewish People or the heroes of the Bible you study the beginning books of both the Old and New Testaments.  If you want to investigate the logic, the spiritual wisdom, the formation for prophetic understanding and develop trust in the Lord you read the middle books of the both the Old and New Testaments.  And if you want to understand Eschatology or Prophecy both for the first and second coming of Christ then you look to the minor prophets in the Old Testament and the Epistles to Hebrews, 1John, 2John, Peter, the letters to Timothy and Jude.  If you want to bring it all together and understand Tribulation, the Harvest and the times following Earth’s remaking you must study Revelation.  Once again I am astounded by God’s creative mastery in giving us a guidebook that structurally matches our own walk through life.

I love to read it all but must admit that I feel led to particular passages of the Bible based upon my current question or growth need.  Lately, I have found especial comfort in the teachings of Jesus, trying to better understand the Lord in what He did, said and how He treated or questioned those close to Him.  I also find particular interest in reading the prophecies that have yet to be fulfilled, from Daniel, Ezekiel, Isaiah and minor prophets to seeing how closely the predictions of the human condition match our current global climate.  Knowing what is to come gives me faith and peace in God as He told us that all this would happen before it came about.  Reading this material has peaked my interest and prepared my heart and mind for what is to come.  I am only ready because He gave me the means by which to be so.  Thank you God for Your Word and Your Love.  In Jesus Name.

Made the grade

If you want evidence of God I will show you sinners transformed into saints.  The work done by a Loving God, who promised this result to them who believe upon Him.  I pray and pity those who must be good enough in their performance in order to gain/earn admittance to the paradise of God.  For how may I know that I am intended for glory, if the definition of my acceptance is based upon my “acceptable” deeds?  How may I ever have assurance if the criteria for entry is based on me, for we have all determined that there is nothing certain in this world except death, taxes and change.  I can imagine their despair as they seek each day to be “good” enough for God.  God wants perfection, I cannot reach perfection, therefore I will eventually fall prey to utter depression in the personal attempt of works.  I that I may hope to be is past the bar of “good” enough, every one above the line being included and below, excluded.  How do I know my standing against this measure?  The answer is I don’t, so I have to continue to strive to be good enough and “hope” that on the day of my death I had somehow “made the cut”.

I don’t care how good you are, all of us continue to sin against the mirror of God’s Law.  Remember God’s bar is perfection, so any performance below that line is disqualified.  Since, one hundred percent of us fall short of this mark, it is miraculous that God offers the Grace of Salvation, freely to them who will repent and believe.  This provides the opportunity for the assurance of salvation while removing the burden of earned entry to paradise.  Christ paid the price of my imperfection, substitutionally providing me His righteousness in exchange for my utter hopeless position in sin.  Although God still expects me to live a pure, righteous and Holy life, He has now allowed for the fact that I am incapable of doing so.  It is God who will perfect me, God who transforms, God who makes it possible for me to be in His presence throughout eternity.  What a relief, I don’t have to try and be good enough anymore and I can accept the assurance of my entry in heaven when I die.  Do you know where you are going when you leave this life?  Don’t you want to know or would you rather continue to hope, guess or live in despair?

How shall we ever access overwhelming or abundant joy if we continue to worry about being good enough for heaven?  My heart is filled with thankfulness for the great gifts God continually gives me, my eyes well with size seven tears when I realize the wonderful friendships with which I’ve been blessed.  I cannot begin to tell you about the number of people I’ve encouraged with a smile, a reminder of love or just the authentic will to listen and share a bit of their burden.  I could have done none of that without the assurance of my salvation and the knowledge that I cannot sanctify myself.  God did the work of conquering sin and death and He continues the work of transforming my life to resemblance.  Lay down your burden at the cross, be forgiven for every sin and be transformed by a renewing of your mind.  That is the free gift each of us is offered.  It is ironic that the only way to be found good enough for heaven is to give up on trying to be good enough at all.  Find rest and truth in Jesus.

With a price

The yearning in your heart, can you name it, or does it just pester you anonymously?  Is there a place to which you feel drawn, a task that begs your completion an idea or word you are compelled to author?  Do you know and have you acquainted yourself with the indwelling Holy Spirit of God?  You being a believer are the tabernacle of God’s Holy Spirit on Earth, the Holy of Holies in fact, where God dwells among men.  Are you afraid to ask God’s Holy Spirit to guide you, counsel you or show you God’s Will?

The Holy Spirit is the earnest of our salvation, according to Ephesian’s 1, sealing us for our inheritance in Christ.  So, if the Holy Spirit is not present, then there is no seal, no salvation and no inheritance.  Wouldn’t it be logical at this point to inquire as to the evidence of the indwelling of the Spirit?  Have you ever asked God to assure you of salvation, to show you His indwelling Spirit?  Have you seen His fruits in your life, your rebirth, your transforming or renewing of your mind?  That’s okay as we grow in our faith and Biblical understanding we all investigate this question on the way to established faith.  Aren’t we told to work out our salvation with fear and trembling?  What is the Holy Spirit telling you and if you do not hear His convicting, assisting or guiding prompts, don’t you wonder why not?

Get close to God and He will come closer to you, that is how this Christian intimacy thing works.  Seek Him and He will always respond in kind.  Don’t be afraid to ask God questions, that demonstrates belief in His Word, for who asks questions of someone in which they have no belief?  Have you resisted the tugs upon your heart, have you ignored His correction or guidance, have you effectively silenced God’s small quiet voice in your life?  We are all made for something and that something is between you and God.  Certainly, pastors, teachers and other Christians can give you some direction but the hunt for intimacy with God through the Holy Spirit via the Door of Jesus Christ our Lord is personal, individual, specific to your course in this life.

Don’t you want to know why He made you?  Doesn’t everyone?  The fact that people avoid God’s Will confounds me, isn’t that what makes life worth living?  Of course I could fill my life with idle pursuits, utilize my gifts for my own determined pursuits or basically deny that I had any specific design, but why on Earth would I choose a lesser existence than that which I’ve been promised by my faith in God?  I delight in your making.  Let us see what God has crafted in your mind, heart and spirit.  Perhaps we will see God in its reflection and it will lead us to a deeper relationship through Christ.  Wouldn’t that be a miracle?  In Jesus’ Name.

Intention

I was designed for worship.  Made to show you a glimpse of our King.  Anchoring you to the foundation upon which the tide of life flows.  May my heart be felt through song, my spirit in words, my life through just pursuit.  I live to collect your tears of joy as you feel His warm embrace and see His adoring smile.  There are works I must perform in life to care for those I love, but they are neither my reason nor my gift.  That is love, love for Him in prayer, voicing my thanks for each day, trial and rest.  We were meant for each other you and I.  For alone has no value, it is the one thing God said was not good.  So, if I may provide a glimmer of hope, light or faith.  Then let that be how I am remembered.  My voice above the noise, praising His name and warming your heart.

I love King Jesus with all that I am.

No smoke or mirrors

Are you telling them what He told you to tell them?  Have you ever mentioned judgment, or does the idea make you feel as if you are being intolerant?  I know, we have been told so many times by the feel-good society that they cannot imagine a loving God could ever send good people to Hell simply for declining His offer of saving grace.  Do not make for yourselves a custom designed image of God, known in the Bible as a graven image.  God may be the most loving idea you can imagine but He has also been saving up wrath for the day of judgment ever since we chose to sin.  Make no mistake, those who ignore, decline, deny or foolishly join satan in direct conflict against God’s Will shall all be sentenced eternally to the lake of fire for their own recorded works.  He is a just and righteous God, who cannot stand sin and has warned everyone that if they do not accept redemption they will choose their own end, eternal separation and judgment.

Yes, I want to be gentle in my loving expression and relationship with all humans.  However, does being gentle require that I refuse or overlook warning those whom I love of the dangers of God’s eternal judgment?  Christ died for our sins and that is a serious thing, that God would come to Earth in order to save us from righteous judgment.  That He would go to such humbling and extensive action to provide each of us the possibility of eternal reconciliation should not be underestimated.  He obviously takes sin very seriously or otherwise He wouldn’t have gone to such lengths to cleanse us of its stain.  We cannot simply choose to teach the parts of the Bible that we feel comfortable in expressing.

The truth has this unique characteristic that it only remains the truth when it is stated clearly, completely and openly without obfuscation, illusion or contextualization.  That is why satan is so insidious and the Pharisees/Sadducees are always referred to as vipers, speaking with a forked tongue.  Take for example the Biblical Truth, stating that “the truth will make you free”, John 8:32.  Read the whole truth, Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.  Taking those lines that are appealing to us out of context removes the qualifying statements that precede it thereby disseminating or warping truth for our own palatable purpose.  According to the commonly used version, “the truth shall make you free” requires nothing of the recipient and additionally all people, believers and unbelievers to be set free by truth, nothing could be further from the truth.

Jesus, is the Way the Truth and the Life and No one comes to the Father but by Him.  How can anyone wishing to know the truth, know that truth without first knowing Jesus?  The world hates Jesus and by relation Christians and Jews.  They cannot tolerate that God would hold them “Absolutely” accountable to His absolute truth.  Historically and subsequently, since they cannot hope to harm God directly, they take their anger out on those whom He loves.  Christians and Jews need not worry though they suffer in this life, God will relieve that suffering and deliver righteous vengeance on all it perpetrators.

God is God and He makes the rules in this and all His universes.  Just because I do not wish to follow my Father’s rules does not free me from His judgment, especially when I am a member of His household.  The only way that a previously disobedient child escapes a Father’s discipline is by being obedient.  God requires that we obediently choose between service as Kin to Jesus in heaven or as suffering eternal slaves to our sin in hell.  That choice does not make Him an unloving God but exactly the contrary, providing a method of salvation where no hope existed.  His judgment is coming, I pray that I have sufficiently prompted you to investigate your own decision for or against Christ.  You see I love you enough to warn you away from the edge, not just tell you the sugar coated version of God’s Word.  Read it for yourself, decide for yourself for you alone shall benefit or suffer for that decision.  My job is to tell you and that I have done.  In Jesus Name.

Doing what cannot but must be done

The key component to understanding is having enough love to listen, sometimes without response.  There are so many people with good intentions, themselves having never been truly loved, such that when they are confronted with the opportunities of ministry they resort to instructing instead of loving.  It is not the intentions which need correction, for most really want to do the right thing.  Instead it is their definition of love that is remiss.  If we are to understand God through relationship then frequently the most important piece of wisdom He may convey to each of us is a clear concept of love.  Equipped with this Godly understanding and the Power of Love we may then heal the sick and wounded through Christ’s Love offering to love them the way that each of us wants to be loved.

Love, is probably one of the deepest, most complex ideas known to man.  Many will resolve to describing its facets in their original Greek or Latin explanations to segregate its diverse aspects.  However, we need not practice the secular science of breaking things down to their smallest common denominator in order to understand the big picture of Love.

God’s Love is this, that He remains devoted to those whom He Loves, regardless of their worthiness because of His overwhelming adoration for His creation.  He never leaves them, never ignores them and always provides safety, security and provision to those whom He Loves, even when they don’t love Him in return.  He remains ready for reconciliation and intimate relationship, hoping that each of us will reach out to Him, but lovingly giving each of us the time and space to make the voluntary pursuit.  He Loves us enough to save us from our own foolishness and self-destructive passions by providing a “way through” this life in restorative process of cleansing by accepting the punishment for “every” sin upon Himself, then paying the price of each sin by dying for us.  God loves me without recognition of or limitation based upon my performance or inadequacies.  We enjoy bandying the term, unconditional, however we have never truly offered this type of love while we complain that no one cares for us in that fashion.  Having met God and received His Love we are made aware of its benefits.  How then would we fail to learn and practice this type of love toward our fellow humans?

He did not say like your Brother the way that you wish to be liked.  He did not say be infatuated with your Sister the way that you would want to be infatuated.  He offered these two commandments in a particular order, I believe for a particular reason.  For once we love God with all our heart, mind, soul and spirit, then we understand how much He loved us at our “worst” moments and are willing/capable of loving ourselves without qualification or judgment.  Once we offer ourselves this condition free love then we are ready to offer it to others.  I cannot love someone in the way I wish to be loved without first having fully comprehended the definition and fulfillment associated with being loved in the way that I want to be loved.  I cannot speak a language that I don’t understand without the Holy Spirit’s intervention.  Without Him I have no hope, with Him I am never hopeless.

It is extremely difficult if not impossible to love thieves, killers, brigands, charlatans and adulterers, but we do.  It is near impossible to love our enemies, even as they sin against us, yet we must.  It is highly unlikely that we will ever love someone unconditionally when we continue to condemn ourselves for our own private failures and shortcomings, but we shall.  For just as we are transformed into new creation, reborn to God, we shall be given the Power to Love inherent to the Holy Spirit.  For He is God and thus loves each of us unconditionally, just as we are called to love others.  Next time you have the opportunity to minister, try loving the person in the way that you would want to be loved.  Love overcame everything in this world, His name is Jesus Christ.  He calls you to be His ambassadors to this world, so we must love them as He does, without requirement.  I pray that they choose salvation through Christ and that I will love them regardless of their decision, wealth, illness, foolishness or circumstance.  For that is how He has always loved me.

Sufficient

Do you really want patience?  Do you really want to see what God has in store for you around the mountain bend?  Can you stand still as the heat intensifies, encircling you, closing off escape, threatening your toes beginning to disturb your lungs?  What does trust mean to you, certainly it doesn’t mean that you will believe even when the ship capsizes below the waves, leaving you alone, cold, tired, swimming in your best recollection of the direction you left shore?  What happens when the jars are empty, the wells dry?  Will you stand after doing everything that you could have done, grasping tightly to the knowledge of the powerful God that you serve?

What is he asking of you?  Does it require that your bank accounts hover near zero, holding on, jobless, penniless, no back up, savings or perceived security left to cling upon?  Must you lose your health, when it has always been your sanctuary, the long runs, effective in clearing your mind of the worries of each day?  What about the friends, who’ve avoided you since the fall, the family who have forgotten your number, moved away leaving no forwarding contact?  Has the church risen to take their place, brothers and sisters in Christ, moving in to fill the vacuum left in your abandonment?  How about your spouse, has he or she stepped up to provide, encourage, support and defend you as you struggle to make it to the dawn of God’s Will?  Have you the courage to live or die upon God’s intervention or abstinence, knowing fully that He will move at exactly the appropriate time for His Perfect Will?  Do you trust Him, even unto death?  Gosh, my friend, I never thought that this thing, this Christianity, this faith was that serious.  I never believed that I would be confronted with such deep, probing question.  I never thought that the tests would be this hard or that they would really provide the circumstantial impetus to reveal my character, my love, my honest, unadulterated trust and love for God.  What have I gotten myself into?

Wouldn’t it be easier to have faith in God right now, without the testing, while you have assets and security and no question of tomorrow’s sunrise?  Or must we be tested as humans, never accepting, believing and holding onto faith until progressively, intensely challenged?  I wish that I had believed, but I am glad for the opportunity to show my mettle.  For each of us may speak oddly of Peter, never having had the opportunity to deny Christ.  Who will stand with Him, even when He is seated in heaven?  Will we declare or deny and isn’t that the reason for all this glorious opportunity.  We have the chance to live as Prince and Priest for God through Christ.  Who among us will accept that chance?  For the time is now and you my friend have been chosen of God for the purpose of your making.  It is not a question of who will be tested or who will go through sufficient struggle for each of us has the same choice and task.  The question is will you.  In Jesus’ Name.

Not Yet

Walking with my Lord God through life’s troubles, provided me sufficient, empirical evidence to convince my skeptical mind that His promises are true.  Although, I have had struggles there has always been a foundation of governance to my travails that kept me from destruction.  Where the fires were too hot for me to survive, there was always a chilling breeze to cool me down or conveniently available, protective-clothing to prevent my immolation.  My losses, however severe were always followed by specific learning and reasoned recovery, designed to produce a particular life outcome.  When I sin, I suffer the consequence of that sin but each time, experience the forgiveness synonymous with repentance, petition and grace.  When I seek Him in authenticity, I find glorious relationship.  Though everything in life let me down, even myself, God has never once failed to deliver.  Isn’t that the proof of life or sufficient “show me” qualification to which each have subjected Him?

Why then do I continuously seek that which is by nature incapable of fulfilling my spiritual complexity?  This world has an available sufficiency of goods, experiences and relationships to succor a portion of my intellectual ego.  It does not however, offer any resolution to the programming implicit to my encoded DNA or the reason for my life.  All men wish to know what happens after this short existence.  There are only two outcomes from that investigation.  The first is acceptance or self convincing argument, in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary, that this life is all that there is, that there is nothing coming for us after but finality and mineral, energetic recycling.  The second is that there is some form of personal/individual existence beyond the boundaries of death on this material plane, that there is some part of our current makeup which transcends transition.

If you subscribe to the former then you must consume all that may be consumed in this life in order to achieve success.  Living a servant life is irrelevant as there are no eternal or super-life implications of self centeredness.  When I am the god of my own universe, I need serve no other, in fact that effort would be futile and purposeless.  My sole purpose in this life would be to feed, sleep, experience and enjoy the momentary drug of my own self glorification.  Thus, having an supernaturally encoded or unique purpose would by nature be useless.  So, the fact that any/all of us feel that there is a meaning to each of our lives negates this avenue as a choice providing any sufficient fulfillment.

Choosing the second road, summarily accepting that there is an existence beyond the death associated with this life complicates the philosophical implications.  For having decided that this life is not all there is and that there is a unique purpose for the uniqueness of every human being, places a burden of resolution upon each of our lives.  This choice also introduces us to the difficulty and human unresolved problem of what to do with the implications of our sin.  For if this life is not all that there is and since we have an individual purpose then there is an inherent accounting for the fulfillment or denial of that purpose.  It really makes this life more precious, because we only have a certain amount, an unknown amount, of time in which to complete that direction.  Even those who kick the can of sin through resurrection/recycling into the next life admit that what we do or don’t do in this life determines the possibility of the next.  It also begs the question, an implied, unique purpose implies a designer, for who gave us that unique purpose?

To them who would preach pluralism, inclusion, tolerance, coexistence or a conglomerated worldly, jointly acceptable religion; Christianity will remain inconsistent with any attempt at global inclusivity.  For we believe that there is one God, who is only available or reachable by belief in and reliance upon the “ONLY” available avenue of approach, Jesus Christ the saviour of mankind.  There is no mantra, no prayer, no good deed, no membership card, no humility, no nationality, no royalty, no clean living or enlightened path that can reach God for there remains between us an untenable chasm to which belief in Christ is the only available bridge.  We believe that each person has a purpose, given them by their Creator, the Lord God, and that purpose an impetus driving each of us to reach out to Him for fulfillment.  Christianity is inconsistent by definition with all worldly religions for there is only one door and if you try to get around it, over it, under it, beyond it or ignore it you come to the same conclusion every time, eternal separation from God and those who have accepted, obeyed and believed in the Truth of His invitation to reconciliation.  Praise be to God that He gave us each a purpose, Praise Him that He placed inside each of us a yearning to know Him and Praise Him that He provided a method by which we might establish eternal relationship, in this life and the next.

I pray that you accept your wonderful Creation.  I pray that you seek, find and fulfill your God given purpose and that in so doing you meet the Lord Jesus Christ.  I pray that I see you in eternity and that I may listen to how God walked with you in every step of this life.  I want for you peace, completion and inclusion found with God in Christ.  Join the family of purpose, ask questions about Jesus, seek Him and find for yourself meaning in this life, knowing where you are headed in the next.  God will never let you down, never leave you, never ignore you, avoid or turn His back on you.  That doesn’t mean He won’t challenge, grow, teach and discipline you for what comes next, because after all He is the most Loving Father and what Father leaves His children alone to fend, learn and succeed by themselves.  Trust God and enjoy what He gives you.  I believe that this concept given us by Solomon is the basis of peaceful life, a peace only reachable/understandable through knowing Christ Jesus.  So get to know Him and get to know peace.

Done

If I could, He wouldn’t have.  “Find the secret passage”, said Jeremy, as they searched the office bookcase, looking for the way out of their dilemma.  Do you find yourself, sweating, stressing, trying with every ounce of your courage, intelligence and talent to get to a peaceful point?  Are you praying harder, memorizing, correcting faulty behavior and giving a bit more each week, hoping to rid yourself of your Christian shortcomings?  Is your windfall being withheld because of something you’ve done or aren’t doing?  Remember, “the wages of sin is death”.  So, the fact that every human being was/is a sinner immediately separated all of us from God with an insurmountable chasm.  Could not climb it, could never cross it, couldn’t repair it, fill it, ignore it or invent another paradise, we were left in utter despair realizing our inability to ever know God.  The Jews tried rule conformity, even finding themselves adding exponential refinements to God’s Law in hope of someday being good enough.  What then are we misunderstanding about God’s gift, God’s Love and Christ’s sacrificial victory that precludes us from accepting that we cannot “do” anything to reach heaven.  None of us is good enough to overcome the stain of sin, none is powerful enough or perfect enough to remove the judgment incumbent with sin’s price of death.  It took an incredible, angel astounding act of mercy on the part of God Himself in order to offer an opportunity for cleansing and repair to God’s intimate relationship.

Having given in I will never give up, because salvation and sanctification are acts entirely dependent upon God’s power, performance and will in their achievement.  Yes, achievement, but not reward based upon my piety, my effort, kindness, care or goodness, accomplishment completely founded by and rooted in God’s decision to save me.  I am trying with every ounce of my being to be a better person and not one measure of my energy has ever made me even a smidgen more like Christ.  Conversely, my surrender to Christ in repentance, faith and belief has transformed me to the point of nonrecognition by my family, colleagues and long term friends.  I cannot do what was never within my power to be done.  Have you accepted your impotence with regard to locating, approaching or entering heaven’s gate?  Don’t fail to see your own failure.

Surrender is for winners.  Accepting my status as a sinner with “no hope” of salvation without Christ, prompted the only logical decision available to rational men, choosing Christ and eternal life over remaining in my sin and death.  Of course, many will tell you if you study real hard, meditate every day until late, eat the right foods, go to the right schools or do the right deeds you will “eventually” be sent your invitation to join the after life.  If that were even remotely believable, then they would be able to show me, absolute proof of my predecessors having made that mark.  Oh, right, they want me to prove God and heaven exist but they cannot show me one fact of substantiated proof of one person ever being good enough to reacquaint themselves to God.  Why do you think God chose murderers, adulterers and peasants as heroes of the faith?  Pretty clear isn’t it that none could claim that they were good enough, smart enough or rich enough to deserve the blessings that they received.  Goodness, all the apostles were summarily dispatched as punishment for their works of goodness, leaving only John to live out his life in order to eventually pen the Book of Revelation.  How then can any hope to reach heaven by works if those who God chose as His Earthly Family failed absolutely?  They had hope, but not in their own effort or energies, but in the devotion of Christ to carry them to eternity.  It is not deed but rather belief that sets the captive free in Christendom.

I love my Brothers but they try way too hard.  They tell me their sins and then lay out their plan of action to rid themselves of character flaws.  I would laugh but it is usually the tears that take precedence for their character flaws require much less priority than their demonstrated misunderstanding of faith.  I want to be a better man, a better son, Father, friend, worker, disciple, thinker, giver, believer and servant to God.  God will achieve these things in me because He wants the same, in fact He wants even better than I can think or perceive.  So, I cannot do the work and in so knowing I am set free from the hopeless energetic expenditure in pursuing the Holy Grail.  I have drunken from the well of the living water and been refreshed to everlasting.  Being sober minded I am drunk with joy, the joy that comes with relationship through Christ to God.  I will try my best to be a good example to those around me as an ambassador for Christ, but as to getting in to heaven that battle is done, having been fought and won by Christ on Calvary’s Cross.

Praise God for His Righteousness and Faith.  My soul’s been saved, Hallelujah.  In Jesus’ Name.

Reach

We seek to be different yet we crave togetherness.  How is this resolvable?  How can I seek to blend in when my DNA, my skin, my fingerprints, hair and eyes have been uniquely crafted so that I am particularly discernible from each of you?  Why create such a uniqueness if randomness, chaos and collective non-singularity are the objective?  What is the power of indoctrination, conformity and communism if not to take that which is unique and make it indistinguishable?  Why does my heart yearn and burn for something that this world desperately seeks to conceal?  Why was I made unique, because that uniqueness implies individual and singular purpose?  If that were not so I would not “be” but rather, we would exist.

The thing we reach for that is just beyond our extended fingertips, drawing each of us to tip toe, reaching out to grasp the sky.  I have a picture in my mind, one that I would love for you to see, yet I cannot paint.  I have a story that I would love for you to hear yet I am outside those that have the means to publish thought.  I am a shepherd.  The smelly part of humanity that we would rather ignore, forget or banish to our necessary fields on the untenable highlands.  We see, we protect, we love and we adore God in our quiet, windy moments spent in reflection upon the hill hoping that nothing happens outside the ordinary but preparing for those times as we know they shall come.

I do not expect that you will find my thoughts acceptable or logical or palatable.  I hope for the opposite, that you find me unique as God has made me, that my oddity inspires your need to figure it out, wondering why I am so strange.  For this is the light of Christ.  It is not like this world yet reflects Him in the world He created, for what created thing does not demonstrate the signature, aspects and insights of its Maker.  Solomon said that there is nothing new under the sun.  This I believe, except when it applies to each human being that is conceived for you are uniquely spectacular to me.  There is a song in your heart that I wish to know, a building you alone were meant to construct a problem whose solution resides in your mind alone.  Do not allow the powers of this world to package, can or lump you collectively into a beige or mauve mundane torturous nightmare.  For this life is meant for joy and realization of unique purpose, leading each of us to an intimate relationship with God.  You hold the key, it is choice and the choice is named Jesus Christ, the Door, The Way, The Light, The Lamb, The King, The Good Shepherd for all men.  He resides in Glory and in each believers heart.  Reach for Him, He is waiting.
