He calls me Friend

Friend, to what destination are we effectively coupled, operating in tandem, pulling to the will of the people?  Where is it that we are going?  Are we targeting some random finish line, or some carefully designed outcome orchestrated by a handful of politicians and super rich?  Do you feel that you have control of your destiny?  For what purpose is “your” life lived?  Is it perhaps, given to service, of some person, nation, corporation, song or dream?  Or like me have you seen the Truth that is God, finding solace in His unfolding plan for each of our brief but valuable travail through this world?

I call you friend because that is what you were meant to be, or perhaps Brother/Sister is far more appropriate, each of us tracing our lineage to some common point in history.  If there were only a thousand of us would we feel so detached?  No, it is that our numbers have grown to a throng so large that each of us can only hope to know a certain minute segment of humanity.  What am I doing to care for, leverage and cooperate with those people I know to the good of our human race?  Am I shackled by the selfish pursuit of my own desire?  Is there value in a life lived for one’s own purpose?

Where do you want to go?  Would I like the peace, harmony and self sacrifice within your words or are they desperate, angry, filled with remorse born of an unresponsive civilization that has forgotten the Grace, Joy and Glory of Almighty God?  Friend, reach out for the Lord and find peace that surpasses the prolonged foolishness of this finite human condition.  Lean not on your own understanding, limited by the travesty which fills your eyes, mind and heart.  I wish to quiet your heart and encourage your direction toward the path for Christ.  There is no other joy in this world but service for God.  Let go of your pain and be transformed by a renewing of your mind to the things and created purpose for which you were crafted by the Master Potter Himself.

How much we can do, together me and you.  So many lives we can impact through love and kindness.  After so many battles we will raise our hands and voices in victorious amble to the Glory of the Lord.  How many days have I got left, each of them precious enough for the breath I have been allotted.  Allotted, yes for this life is not controlled by anything other than autonomous processes running the machine of my heart and mind.  Oh but my choices, they are my own, the gift of a loving Father, allowing us Freedom in what may be done in short timing.  Join me in making great choices together, led by the Spirit of God to the fulfillment of a greater plan for all men.  The Lord be praised.  Jesus Christ is King of Kings and Lord of Lords, on that point we can all be assured.
