http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Peace/2014/11/07/Pope-Francis-Warns-Against-Becoming-Pagan-Christians Must the world continually be tossed about like a cork on the waves?
Good for him to say these things. Do each of us now feel it is our responsibility to determine his level of authenticity? Will we take the devil’s bait and pronounce ourselves mouthpieces for God proclaiming the Pope’s motivations must be unholy? This is not my job. If what he said has been properly portrayed then he has spoken word that is reflective of the Bible. I must assume that since the Pope calls himself a believer that he too is subject to the direction of the Holy Spirit. I pray to the Lord that the Pope’s actions all be used for good and God’s good pleasure. Perhaps he is calling sinners to repentance. I don’t know about you guys but I sin just about every day and must myself be reminded to remain humble, repentant and obedient.
My job is so simple yet I must remain vigilante in humility so that I never arrogantly stray from its calling. I am to love God with all my heart, mind, soul and strength, as I love no other and love you the way that I would want to be loved. That includes the Pope. Yes it is well known that the Catholic church was blended with Pagan practices and peoples in the time of Constantine, but that does not sufficiently lead to a conclusion that everyone within its embrace is unsaved. There are over one billion people in the Catholic faith globally, am I foolish enough to believe that because there is false doctrine within their church that there is no one within their body who could possibly be truthfully, honestly and authentically following Christ Jesus? The enmity of the denominations is a tool that the enemy has effectively used to keep Christians from fellowship and the Power of the Holy Spirit. I must be faithful to remember my job within the Kingdom, that is love.
We are all subject to the misleading call of false doctrine, unless we remain in the Spirit of God, hidden and protected from deception. Perhaps the Pope has looked around him and having read the Book of Jude, and the opening books of Revelation, he is compelled to tell it like he sees it. I don’t know, but that is not up to me, it is up to Almighty God. For if I go judging the motivations of other men then I must begin with my own. If I cannot find fault in a man’s words then must I look for ailments within his heart? Or should I simply love him, pray for him and allow God to do the work of judging his motivations? I rely on the following scripture to keep me in check; “Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate with one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ- God forgave you” Ephesians 4:31
If God chose to use the Pope to usher in false doctrine, apostasy and malignancy, then this too is the Will and the Work of Almighty God. I will pray for him continuously but leave the judgment of his motivations and salvation to God. May the Lord’s Will be done on Earth even as it is in Heaven. Forgive us Father for our luke-warm faith, return us to an honest, true relationship with You, forever and ever. If the Pope’s words are true then let those who are in fact “worldly Christians” among us be so chastised by their truth, that they must repent and be saved or forever leave the Church body. May the birds of the enemy find no foothold or comfort in any body of true Christian believers. Amen. Thank you Lord Jesus for the opportunity to remain free.
