You say

You ask what strengthens me.  You wish to know by which authority I can say emphatically that we should dedicate ourselves in obedience to God’s Will.  You try to find episode of fault so that I may be proclaimed hypocrite and subsequently freely ignored.  Even if you find this avenue of escape and are released from the overwhelming pull to service that being around me places upon your life.  Do you believe this will in any way lessen, diminish or invalidate the Absolute Truth of God’s Word, the mystery of His Church or the Glorious Whisper of the Holy Spirit’s Voice in your cranium?  I speak to you of God because He first did the work in me and now I am obliged to speak the Truth of His Plan into your life.

You look to reason for justification, I rely on the Truth in promises from God.  We must surrender to His plan not because it is some fashionable exercise or morally mandated recipe for sanctity, but because He said it is thus.  You wish to find the loophole in His commands, I wish to write them upon my heart and simply obey.  Yet in your carefully designed existence you remain unfulfilled no matter how many bullet points of your self-actualization strategy are marked off.  You find in denial nothing to support your argument so you are forced to attack the messenger in hopes of invalidating the message.  This is the reason for the death of God’s prophets, as the message is insurmountable the remaining recourse is to silence the proclaiming voice.  What then do you do with God’s Voice, God’s Word and God’s House?  How shall you dispel the messenger when He is Eternal, Almighty, Sovereign?  The awful truth of the matter is God did come and say these things and we killed Him rather than obey.

My generation is wicked, but also loved by God.  This world is filled to the brim with unrighteousness, yet its people are meant for Glory, as vessels filled with the Waters of Life.  We have become a stiff necked people, yet we may all at once bow to the authority of God and bend, flexibly to kiss the Earth at His Feet.  This situation is not hopeless, rather filled with the untapped potential of God’s Sovereign Majesty and Power.  You say why and I say faith.

We should go to church because that is where our Brothers and Sister come to worship Him.  So that we may give them encouragement to do those things which He has prescribed before the forming of the Earth.  So that we may raise our voices in holy grumblings of prayer and song that our combined harmonies may please the Ears of God.  So that our spirits may be refreshed, our hearts warmed and our bellies filled with the abundance of Gods Food.  We should want to go to church because this is where our families reside, rededicating themselves to service, surrender and kinship.  We cannot resolve to rely on a foundation of promises that we have not learned, understood and accepted.  We must gather with other saints so that we may better know the Father who bore us, after all it is all about relationship, a relationship of Love.  They are molded in His likeness, therefore to know them is become closer to the Almighty.

You say, you play, you sway and dance with disaster on the well trodden way.  You know, it is so, you forgo Truth and abundance for tickets to the status quo show.   You grumble, mumble and fumble the ball as you run to the opponents end zone.  Your only victory will be found in Christ Jesus the King and His intentions for your life in this world and the next.
