Outsmarted

Why would you use eight words when one was enough?  A single note sung so clear that all who hear know that God is listening.  Does my walk make everyone talk but it really doesn’t do anything for Jesus?  Bending, standing, serving, waiting, holding, helping, having patience for those who’ve never seen it.  Did you mean it, the words you said or are you looking for a place to hide, deep inside to avoid having to stand by them?  At least they stood and fought, caring and sharing the fears, doubts and misunderstanding that led them to folly.  It is simple he said, this thing in my head, but my mouth can’t seem to explain it.  Let’s hum it again and when we get to the end we simply have to refrain it.

Children speak truth without additive.  Rain washes clear all intentions, no one stands in the mud intentionally without reason.  That is why we start out young because everything looks so big, but life is simple, you just want to please your parents and get love.  Returning to that mindset is imperative for surrender to God’s purpose for our lives.  We just have to hold on and believe, standing in the face of calamity armed with nothing but faith.  When reason abandons all, God will not change.  He is simply Truth without additive, that is why children know Him closely and hear His voice so clearly.

It is so tiring being so clever.  Trying to outsmart the house game using statistics that never give in to the visitor.  I know that when danger is discerned it is not wise to proceed.  But what about the man who plays it so safe that He forgets to breathe and smothers for his caution?  The Lord meant us for life not to make sure every box was checked and verified.  I am designed for work not for incessant boredom and that is why I am certain that I am serving my own plan.  Doing God’s work never tires or bores a man.  Lord, show me the way to become ready for the next station, the next job, tasking or battle.  My back, heart and mind are Yours forever.  Praise God with Jesus’ Name upon my lips.  Amen.
