Hope

What is hope for you?  Are you hoping upon the next job, a new child for you and your spouse or maybe a little time away from the hubbub and wave after wave of overwhelming circumstance?  Do you hope that the world will right itself, that somehow a group of right-thinking leaders will come together with wisdom and produce some planning that when executed will allow us to live in relative harmony?  Are you praying that God comes or are you hoping that this generation will pass away before Prophecy’s judgment comes to pass?  Are you setting yourself up to face the coming rage that we all see is mounting within the race of man?

What is hope for you?  What lay below the surface of your belief?  When you dig what do you find in the garden of your own life?  Not only what is growing there but what is in the soil, and what holds up the firmament, the foundation upon which you have planted the seeds of this life?  What have you sown?  What do you hope to bring in at harvest?  Will it be fine grain, fruits and legumes that refresh to body, mind a spirit?  We all know that the composition of the soil and the purity of the water dictates what will grow and the health of that growth.  In each Christian’s life the water should be pure, having come from the fountain of the living waters, unless perhaps having been tainted by the words and doings of false teachers.  But what about the soil?  Is it laden with heavy metals, carcinogens, garbage and sewage?  Is it too full of rock so that there is no earth by which to take deep root?

What is hope for you?  Do you pray to stand on the day of battle, armored in the festoons of God’s protection, singing Hallelujah in the face of coming storm?  Do you dread all the fear and societal decay, paralyzed into cutting out what little fun you can have, sequestering your heart, your treasure and your love to the few and not the many?  What is it that you look forward to and what will you do when challenged by the enemy we all know has lurked beyond the edge of light?  How will you deal with the powers and principalities, prepared for millenia, waiting with our eternity in balance?

Hope for me is “belief in things not yet seen”, “things which must quickly come to pass” and in the multitude of promises given us by our Righteous King.  None of these depend upon me, which is probably my greatest hope and relief.  I prepare my way with knowledge of God’s Word of Prophecy, arming myself with wisdom, faith, truth, peace, love and salvation, knowing fully that I will make it through the fires and raging seas.  I hope in the soil that God has given at the center of my life and the dirt in to which I have sown the seed of God’s Word so that others may bring in their own vibrant crops.  I hope that the Word’s of encouragement I have spoken to Brothers, Sisters and to the Lost have brought them into relationship with Christ where they may find comfort, peace and strength.  I hope upon a God who has never failed, never lied and never left me standing alone on the field of battle or victory.

I trust in the hope of Christ the King, believing in His Will and that He has already overcome this world and “All” God’s enemies.  I hope to sit with Him and talk about the things I currently do not know and the work He has planned for me in eternity.  I hope upon my choice of this life which made me a witness to what is coming as we head into the next life.  Praise You Lord God.  There is no other hope but You.  Amen.
