Sidestep

Does doing His work involve losing the ground you’ve plowed personally?  Is there something for which you’ve invested time, treasure, emotional capital and sweat equity that will disappear the moment you accept the Lord’s direction?  Wow, I feel for you.   Those are the decisions we avoid and also the moments for which we live.  To know in an instant what really matters based upon what we are willing to give up in order to serve God is a tremendous blessing.  Boy, but in the heat of that moment it doesn’t seem so pleasant.  The long time love, the job, position, membership or fellowship that must be dismissed in order to receive God’s best, consistent with His will is never easily released, even when we know that it is the right thing to do.

Do you feel blessed that the Lord has confronted you with such a choice?  That the thing He has for you to do is righteous, important or that He is asking you for sacrifice and in so doing your path will be forever re-directed.  Why has He chosen each of us for the work set before us?  We have to know that it is because He loves us, but the truth is that it is His prerogative.  His Will Be Done.  Remember saying that over and over throughout your life, proclaiming it without really considering what it truly meant?  Well now the time has come, that moment where you get to prove yourself true or false.  God help you to make the right decision.

In Jesus Name I pray.
