When will we wake up to the abominable path that America eagerly travails?  Will it take famine, pestilence, lack of good water, plague or perhaps an enemy emp strike, knocking out our infrastructure?  There are multiple examples in the Bible of the inevitable downfall for any nation that called themselves by the name of the Lord, abandoning God’s Word, whether Jew or Christian.  Why then are we in complete denial as to where our current path will lead?  People consistently proclaim that they know we as a nation are on the wrong track, but they BLATANTLY refuse to do what it personally takes in order to get the wheels back on track.  When asked for the answer to our collective problems, without fail every party points toward another group or individual responsible for our present demise. Unless we reduce the success or failure of this nation to a personal level of responsibility it will remain unsolved as we seek to blame someone else for our circumstances.  This is happening because God has chosen to remove His hand of blessing from our country and turn us over to our depraved minds.  Romans 1

We can be assured that we are headed for a monumental if not total collapse of the blessed nation of the United States.  The saddest part of the entire truth is that it will be entirely self inflicted.  We have indebted ourselves beyond recovery.  We have destroyed our affluence by abandoning the foundational beliefs which made us prosperous.  We have denied personal accountability in exchange for blame and we refuse to heed ALL warning and turn back from this course aimed at disastrous collision with the immovable future.  Our children seek mammon, violence and blasphemy instead of God’s will for their lives.  Our representatives refuse to exercise restraint, refuse to respond to our cries for action and continue to puff themselves up while serving their personal interests.  These things are symptomatic of a nation gone astray and lead to disaster at some future point.

This breaks my heart because the entire idea of the people of a united republic yearning to be free and voluntarily choosing to follow a set of principles because they are right, good and just may be outdated but it sure sounds good.  We have one chance in this country and that is to have a collective 2 Chronicles 7:14 moment where we humble ourselves and turn back from our wicked ways in hope that God repairs our country.  But, let us not be foolish, just as every fire starts with one spark so too Holy Fire revival begins in the heart of one man or woman.  I will continue to pray for such an obedience and awakening in one believer’s heart catching the world aflame.  The alternative is almost too hard to bare but clearly eventual and unavoidable on our current heading.  Father Yours is the Might, the Power, the Glory and the Truth which leads to salvation and prosperity.  In Jesus’ name, I ask You to have mercy on this nation, we have been blinded and led astray.  Return our hearts to You, forever.

For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure of greedy person–such a man is an idolater–has any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and of God.  Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient.  Therefore, do not be partners with them.  For you were once of darkness, but now you are light in the Lord.  Live as children of light for the fruit of light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth and find out what pleases the Lord.  Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.  For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret.  But everything exposed by the light becomes visible, for it is light that makes everything visible.  This is why it is said: “Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”  Be very careful then how you live–not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.  Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.  Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery.  Instead be filled with the Spirit.   Ephesians 5:5-18

Unheard of, his cry to his neighbors who proclaimed a rendering of the story leaving the end untold, the beginning unmentioned and the body undiscovered. The entire Word must be mined, unearthing truths, gems of salvation and pearls of discernment.  Perplexity, skepticism and curiosity are coarse or un-refined reasoning.  Our belief must be washed in the Word of the Lord to reveal the crystalline components and granules of precious ore.

My greatest prayers are for the peace of Jerusalem and believers’ filling of the Holy Spirit of God for these are Almighty’s foretelling.  Arrival of these desired blessings arose from my understanding of the Bible as a book of Prophecy.  An interwoven, super-chronological chronicle of discernment sponsored by the Hand of God.  Belief fortified through Biblical study, prayer and understanding.  Our knowledge must be complete, our faith matured our prayers offered from circumcised hearts to the ears and nostrils of the Holy God.  Understand how the Lord’s use of prophecy throughout the Bible, beginning in Genesis 3 prepares the faithful for all that will eventually transpire even His coming Kingdom established for eternity.

Pray for Jerusalem for her hour of transformation symbolizes God’s return for judgment and eternal fellowship with His beloved.  His people will understand the true meaning of regret when they see the Messiah as their own.  Their subsequent cries to the Lord will usher in His return, for which we expectantly pray.  Understanding the importance and the role of Israel in God’s plan is pivotal in attainment of Christian maturity and Biblical understanding.  Just as we would never stop reading an intriguing mystery novel several chapters before the end we must read, comprehend and rejoice at Revelation to understand the victory we possess.  If God wins in the end how can we contemplate loss, Now.  Father, be praised in Jesus’ name.  Amen.

How does looking into the waxing or waning light somehow produce momentary tranquility?  The sun tears and burns our eyes in direct viewing.  Why then do we feel compelled to brave direct gaze?  What do we intrinsically comprehend about the sponsor of the light which gives us comfort in luminescence?  In a bitterly, cold cabin frozen for months at the edge of a petrified lake why would the tiny flame of one single candle give us sufficient hope for the night’s survival?  What are the properties of light which allow it to be the basis for measurement of time, space, gravity or elemental composition?  The question of hearing the falling tree in the forest is irrelevant without the light having given the tree and the hearer life in the first place.  Every single time the trail leads back to the Light of God.

There was “darkness over the surface of the deep” (Genesis 1) before God created light.  What is so elemental about darkness that God would create “light” and call it good?  He did not call darkness, good.  In darkness, we are blind or inhibited, in light mysteries are revealed.  In darkness there is loneliness and despair, in light there is comfort and joy.  Darkness symbolizes blindness, light symbolizes perception and gives the gift of color.  If there are possibly billions of stars in the known universe why then is space dark, cold and breathless?  Without light we may exist but we do not thrive.  Seek the light, know the light, follow the light, His name is Jesus Christ the Lord and He promises forgiveness, abundance and life.  Praise His name.

“Even if I caused you sorrow by my letter, I do not regret it.  Though I did regret it–I see that my letter hurt you, but only for a little while–yet now I am happy, not because you were made sorry, but because your sorrow led you to repentance.  For you became sorrowful as God intended and so were not harmed in any way by us.  Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.  See what this godly sorrow has produced in you, what earnestness, what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what alarm, what longing, what concern, what readiness to see justice done,.  At every point you have proved yourselves to be innocent in this matter.  So even though  I wrote to you, it was not on account of the one who did the wrong or of the injured party, but rather that before God you could see for yourselves how devoted to us you are.  By all this we are encouraged.”  Paul’s 2nd Epistle to the Church at Corinth.  7:8-13

Without risking the provoked emotions of those around us we are made impotent in our testimony.  I assert that “political correctness” is a direct attack of the enemy upon Christians in an attempt to weaken our declaration of the Word.  The efficacy of pastors, evangelists, prophets, teachers and counselors is significantly if not severely mitigated by any attempt to make the Lord’s Word palatable or socially acceptable for an audience.  The Lord’s word is sufficient, perfect, appropriate, convicting, convincing, determined, persuasive, gentle, firm, loving and as Isaiah so appropriately stated “profitable” in all things.  I love people enough to tell them God’s Word and leave the outcome to the Holy Spirit.  I do not pray that you will like me only that God allows you to hear and understand His Word and that you react with a hunger to learn, grow, surrender and obey.  In this I will be encouraged and rewarded.  Father, Praise You Almighty God of Heaven and earth, in Your Son’s delightful name, Jesus our Lord, King and Savior.

When are you strong?  When things are going your way, when the path is flat, safe and well-paved?  When money is good, work is fun and friends are plentiful?  Are you ready to face opposition armed with good health, provision and robust demeanor?  Is your life good when circumstances are favorable?  Does difficulty remove your buoyant spirit?  Do dwelling clouds, rain and wind chip away at your positive attitude?  Could you be left alone with nothing but your thoughts for weeks on end and maintain a joyous outlook?  Whose wings do you wear?  What hope do you wait upon?  What if in persecution the deliverance you have prayed comes on your last day here on earth after a life time of suffering, persevering in bitterness and exercising patience?  How long is too long to wait upon the Lord?  The Lord has promised that He will make sense out of chaos in His timing.  What will you do in the interim even when things don’t go your way?  Father be praised in the Name of Jesus the Messiah.

My spirit howls to you Lord.  The pain here is unbearable without the balm of relationship with You.  I am raw as if left in the desert sun too long.  Thirsty for a deep draft of living water.  I cannot do this Father.  They are so mean to each other and only see their own ambitions.  The miracle is that children can withstand the onslaught of sensual overload.  You will reach them through wrath, what a pity that nearly all could be avoided.  You offer us acquittal for belief, abundance for obedience and supernatural relationship in eternity for surrender.  Astounding that there is even one who would reject this gift, yet it is clear there will be billions.  Incomprehensible.  I think this place is horrific and yet I deserve the place after this one which is infinitely, indescribably worse. Your plan is truly beyond my perception.  How long will You tolerate this folly?  When will You pronounce Your eternal Kingship?  I hope that it is soon.  I will wait on Your timing, please wait with me.  Thank You, Father in Jesus’ name.

Trust, dream and do.  The few are the many says He who stands upon the mountains of the sky tending His flocks watching over the affairs of men, in judgment.  Wish upon harmony if you will to find the things which have been concealed since the mooring of the prophets to this universe.  Keep faith, glean understanding from the fields where sickles prowl.  Engage in trial whereby we are understood by the populace of towns turned toward the sun.  Give pleasure to God through gratification for grace.  Peace flows upon the lands like water through the body.  It is a binding of sorts to the flame that kindled life.  Grasp at nothing for air is un-catchable.  The folds of time are spurious.  Rotate the means upon their ends and you find the justification.  Do dance, in joy of belonging to something greater than the self.  Hope in fealty for friends are those sutures which mend all ill.  Pause to gander upon reflection in the pond and know that this world is shadow of your home.  Give appropriately what you have been given.  Dare to be great.  Glorify the Mighty, Honor the fount of Righteousness, drink in desperation and see grace not far off as dry land to tourist, but as a webbing to the fabric of reality.  Love Me as I have loved you.

The original structure of the Church was sacrosanct and complete, yet we changed it.  It is increasingly apparent that the church is limited in functionality with regard to its intended mission of growing up the body, living in community, healing the lame and the lost and disseminating the Good News of The Gospel of Jesus Christ the Messiah.  The reasons for this decreased empowerment originate in disobedience to God’s Word.  It is certain that I will receive resistance to this position ironically from hobbled church leaders themselves who of course are the progenitors of said structural fallibility.

All members of the church are on level ground.  None is higher, closer to God, better equipped or greater spiritually than the next believer.  We have, “as men do” assigned leaders, most sadly now salaried to give an “approved message” one to several times per week that is supposed to fulfill what was meant to be full time daily commitment on the part of EVERY believer.  This is not to diminish the great expository preaching that many pastors deliver.  However that functionality which has become the mainstay of church participation was only intended as one face of the multifaceted jewel, called the church.

We have fallen prey to what I refer to as gravitational uni-conformity.  That being the propensity to find the most charismatic preacher that we know and then wait upon his every word as the only food we shall weekly receive.  This structural practice causes several negative impacts immediately;

1. dividing the church into segments of the “elevated” and the common,
2. silencing the collective absorption of the voice of the Holy Spirit from within each saint’s heart,
3. placing the success of church tasking squarely upon the shoulders of the few appendages instead the entire body
4. fostering ambition of those worldly people seeking elevated stature within the hierarchical structure of the church as a business.
5. stressing concentration on business functionality to shore up the paid staff and mortgage considerations of a “structural” church vs the individual body of each believer being the temple.

It also creates an environment where as God’s word compels us we cannot be Bereans about all the word that we are receiving.  Never questioning, never deviating from and never adding to the pastors unquestionable forty minute message.   Choosing to orbit the planet with the greatest gravity instead of seeking the light itself we resolve to bask in its reflection.  We have maintained a “man styled” hierarchical structure destined to inadequate performance of the great commission and Holy Spirit filled works.

This creates a myriad of problems that are nonexistent with the God inspired church structure.  We know patently what that structure entails by the Words of Jesus Himself in Revelation 2 & 3, where He clearly outlines all His intentions for the Body of Christ, His Church.  We consistently pray for national revival as if it is something that God decides to send us, when in fact it is something the He promises in response to our actions, (please read what 2Chronicles 7:14 says that WE must do).  I might add where He clearly says that He HATES the hierarchical relationship of professional clergy and common laity.  To oppose my argument believers immediately fall into the unfortunate and dangerous position of being in conflict with Christ Himself.

These truths must be said especially during this hour in which the final act approaches.  Apostasy is not necessary a falling away from the church but rather an opposition to the Word of God or more precisely a falling away from the Truth.  When viewed through this definitional lens, it is painfully obvious where we reside on the time line of God’s evolving plan for the world.  Lord forgive me if I have offended You or Your Bride in any fashion.  I do not wish to be contentious, but intend to wake up and strengthen the Body of Christ for the coming race to victory.  Praise Jesus, Amen.

How do we separate ourselves?  This world doesn’t whisper its hollers, pesters and prods.  It is nearly impossible to escape sinful imagery plastered upon every form of digital media, infiltrating our consciousness.  The temptation to go and find a nice Mennonite town, grow my beard and buy a horse and buggy becomes increasingly plausible.  Does anybody else see the exponential acceleration toward the “all out” anarchy of wickedness?

Our youth are being lured into a digital war zone going on behind the scenes.  A place where boundaries are eclipsed, rules forgotten and morays abandoned, all in the name of “entertainment”.  When did the need for sensory stimulation rule our thoughts and actions?  Escaping or avoiding reality of this world has become increasingly inviting and progressively simple.  Our kids cannot perform normal social functions without a simultaneous text, game or web rendezvous.  What we cannot join we must fight for passivity is what created Adam’s original dilemma.  There are only three available options; acceptance, resistance and fence-sitting.  Where have you chosen to reside?

Men consistently root around in the Bible lacking exegesis seeking explanation, justification and freedom from the Word’s stark accountability and truth.  “Wiggle room” is the call of today’s man.  They seek acceptance into the fold of Christian fellowship halls not by adhering to God’s Word but by manipulation.  They seek to change the truth, or “revise” history to accommodate their willful disobedience.  It will not be long until the Lord of the Universe is redacted from His own manuscript.  HOLD FIRM to what is right and true.  We are entering a world increasingly hostile to believers.  The time for immature faith is rapidly passing away.  We cannot belong, we cannot accept, we must therefore overcome through the Blood of Lord Jesus and our testimony!  Praise You in Your infinite wisdom, Lord.  Protect our children and deliver us from this spiraling world.

I got on my knees today to pray for peace in Jerusalem, but then I remembered something I needed and my devotion abruptly quit.  I prepared my ramparts and then considered the danger unlikely so I reclined in shade with tilted glass.  I implored the Lord to bring my friend to salvation and was immediately pestered by thoughts of self, filled with worry regarding my individual power and plans.  I gave of my blessings unselfishly and as I received return praise I quipped insincerely how it should be given to the Lord.  I glorified the name of the Lord and after several minutes my stomach called me to gastric idolatry.  I accepted the things I’ve been given and mused about the car, house and lavish finances my lost neighbor freely brandishes.  I read the Bible for an hour and recanted, through memory how much of it I possessed to the splendor of my audience.  I dreamed of things to come and then remained upon my couch preferring to entertain my leisure rather than go and usher in change.  My glory was achieved, my holiness hollow and the biggest clue is I just couldn’t get rid of that nagging injury, but the guilt subsided until eventually my conscience offered naught but seared silence.  The enemy has found his way into my faith through lack of vigilance and battle preparedness on my part.

No matter how much I love my Brothers they still can’t seem to understand my failures, thinking me somehow above sin, shallowness and frailty.  Maybe, that is the picture I have framed for them.  I pray that all forgive me for that lie possesses no fragment of truth.  Father, You know me.  Your fulfilled will is my greatest gain.  Your lost sheep cause me tears.  Where is peace without You?  Give to me an obedient heart.  Teach me to understand my allocated gifts and how to effectively use them for Your glory and service.  Take away all residue of previous habitual wickedness.  Please never turn me loose to my own designs.  Educate me in love, patience and self control so that I may effect change.  Let me praise, admire and glorify nothing but Your Holy Name.  Strengthen us for the great days on the horizon.  Prepare me for battle and lead me early to the line of embarkation so that I may scan the skies for Your enemies.  Thank you for entrusting me with any of Your Holiness, Righteousness and Truth.  Through You I will be made worthy of such grace.  Father bless Your Holy and Mighty Name.  Thank you Jesus.
