Praise the Lord, O my soul. O lord my God, you are very great; you are clothed with splendor and majesty. He wraps himself in light as with a garment; he stretches out the heavens like a tent and lays the beams of his upper chambers on their waters. He makes the clouds his chariot and rides on the wings of the wind. He makes winds his messengers, flames of fire his servants. He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved. Psalm 104:1-5
Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together and against the Lord and against His Anointed One. Let us break their chains,” they say, and throw off their fetters.” The One enthroned in heaven laughs the Lord scoffs at them. Then he rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath, saying, “I have installed my King on Zion, my holy hill.” I will proclaim the decree of the Lord: He said to me, “You are my Son; today I have become your Father. Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession. You will rule them with an iron scepter; you will dash them to pieces like pottery.” Therefore, you kings, be wise; be warned, you rulers of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry and you be destroyed in your way, for his wrath can flare up on a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in him. Psalm 2
Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. Not so for the wicked! They are chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous but the way of the wicked will perish. Psalm 1
Father, Trinity, man. Truly take a few minutes and ask the Holy Spirit to give His insight into these passages and you will be amazed at the picture He paints. Father, Son and Holy Spirit have a conversation in Psalm 2 about our relationship with Jesus. If this world gives you any pause reside in the shadow of the Lord and find peace in the shelter of His wings. Do not let this world taint your fine white garment. Be sustained in buoyancy by the fortifying waters of a Holy Christ. I love you and He loves you infinitely more than I am able. Praise His Name.
