I don’t want to be God. I believe that this concept is what separates the three camps; believers, unbelievers and fence-sitters. Not wanting to become deity or somehow achieve a level of personal consciousness which gains me inclusion into all that is god, makes receiving and understanding the Word of the One God, simple. There is no conflict within my own spirit as competing philosophies, merchants or masters jockey for pinnacle positioning. I am okay with God being God and me being me. I do not have to develop complicated interpretations of Mayan, Egyptian or Druid cultures to explain my personal desire to become a god. I do not need to have a psychedelic realization of the spiritual realm and somehow bring back to this material world a shamanistic explanation for my existence.
My ego is alright with being a relatively unimportant human in a vast complicated play written by the Creator of the Universe. It suffices to be loved and known on a highly intimate level by my God. The concept of me achieving my greatest efficacy by surrendering and being obedient to God’s plan for my life is not only acceptable but rather freeing. I am at peace with the universe because I am not trying to remake it in “my own image” or desired end state.
The mystics somehow believe that some planetary re-alignment, collective consciousness or cataclysmic culling will bring about tranquility. If that is so why then am I and so many other Spirit filled Christians already residing in joy as the Bible told us we would be by living close to God? Just as I do not wish to be God, I am equally determined that each person chooses their own destiny. I pray that you choose Christ, salvation and eternity, but I am okay with the knowledge that there will be those who refuse His gift of grace. If it is a golden age you seek, I point you to inspection of Christ’s reign during the millennium. There we will no longer seek riches, wars, domination and self satisfaction but instead live together in peace, justice and comfort. Isn’t that what we all seek? Praise God in Jesus’ name.
