Standing on the wall with their eyes wide open, sentries quickly detected enemy movement beyond the trees and were able to prepare the people for conflict.  They had been warned by the Ancient of Days that the insidious attacks would come under cover of diversion or darkness.  Their leaders had been faithful and trained everyone to the best of their ability.  When it was all over they would rejoice in the fact that they had listened to warning and subsequently casualties were few.  Praise the Lord for His warning.

Evil can only win in a victorious Christian’s life by promoting self corruption or disobedience.  The Lord has overcome this world and all that is in it but we can choose through laziness, complicity or rebellion to remain rooted in the temporary foundations with earth-dwellers.  The stage is set and the enemy seeks to mount the final charge toward oblivion.  They will seek out the weak among us to cull them from the heard.  I will understand the dangers of pride and ask the Lord’s protection for my own deficiencies while interceding for my worldly brothers.  Praise God I will heed his warnings and keep my family, friends and community awake.  Have mercy on us Father, let us maintain and perform Your Word from our hearts with a true sense of purpose.  Until Your arrival and beyond.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
