What do you think about while you are headed on the path? Do you dream of what shall come, do you plan carefully your next year’s adventures or do you fuss and fume over circumstance? How’s your laughter life? Does your wife, your daughter or your best friend giggle in anticipation of your smiles? Has this world consumed your light or do you bring life to the room and deep, big-bellied laughter to conversation? Have you the Spirit of joy? Do you know the precise moment that your thoughts turn from mere reflection to sour your mood and control your day? Do your thoughts capture you or are you the master of the audience within your head? Do freedom, laughter, joy and forgiveness naturally reign in your brain or do you have to battle to produce a chuckle or wipe away frown? The Joy of the Lord is our strength, we must never forget that our enemy is defeated. Love, joy, peace and laughter are weapons and shields against the darkness of the adversary. Evil cannot win because it consumes, love will always win because it creates, supports and edifies. Laugh in the face of misery, spread smiles to a burdened crowd, master your thoughts and bring them under the authority of the Lord Jesus. For just as sin may be committed in thought so shall victory be won on the field of perception. I heard the most interesting statistic, sorry I cannot remember the source; a woman of fifty years old laughs five times a day where a girl of five laughs five hundred per day. It is impossible to skip and frown, try it, you’ll laugh yourself silly. Though we must age we do not have to grow old. Hold on to those glorious things of the child that are pure, innocent, joyous, thoughtful, optimistic, trusting and loyal. They will armor you against this ravenous world seeking to consume all that is good. Armor up with Christ and remind the enemy he has lost and Love has won. Praise you Lord God Almighty in the name of Jesus.
You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. Psalm 16:11
