Children of “The Book”

Sometimes you don’t know how to do a thing but you still have to do it.  Befuddled, I believe is the appropriate term for the feeling that accompanies floundering around in the dark hoping that there is a light switch.  When we just look at the world from the time of Jesus’ ministry on we are wishing for only the action scenes, no character development, no plot, no mystery.  When you see His picture in its entirety, everything else pales in importance and you shout, run, beg, and drag others to the canvass so that their eyes may behold His glory.  I am just a stage hand but this night I have beheld Greatness.

The Bible is a complete document from Genesis to Revelation telling the same story throughout.  An amazing adventure about God’s love for a predominantly, disobedient, questionably salvageable planet full of humans.  A book about a love so grand that it defies all human understanding, logic, time and probability.  This tome about a Father who left paradise, set aside His Glory to join us in our frailty, mortality and temptation.  Sixty six perfectly-crafted, perspectives that intertwine in their uniqueness but never contradict. Chapter and verse that  consistently, harmoniously and supernaturally combine to reveal the mosaic theme of the Lord Jesus Christ.

In our pride we have misused it as pretense for the most devious acts.  In our misunderstanding we have badgered people into trying to reach perfection which was never its intention.  In our lust for power a select few have coveted its meaning and rationed it out  to the starving like government cheese and bread.  We have argued, debated, rewritten, misinterpreted and twisted the Word in our naive collusion with the devil’s strategy.  We have done everything but accept it, live by it and tell everyone we meet about Him.

It is time for Jew and Christian alike to see that we spend eternity together as one family and understand the majesty of His Plan.  Together we must face our collective adversary, alone we are less than effective.  Lord give us unity, give us love, grant everlasting peace to Jerusalem and all its inhabitants.  Glory to Your Name, King Jesus.
