Flight or Fight?

Proverbs 28:1  The wicked man flees though no one pursues but the righteous are as bold as a lion.

Compassion for those that run from the Lord and toward spontaneous satisfaction.  Why do they mourn their iconic members like Lennon, Jobs, and Jackson?  You would too if this life were all that you had, the memory of them is the only thing which keeps them alive, for they are dead to this world and the next.  Can you imagine the hunger born by a knowledge that “this is all that you’ve got”?  An unquenchable thirst for gratification.  A quest for sensory fulfillment.  An emptiness that may only be filled by love but may be numbed by lust, attention and manna.  Knowing fully the “Truth of God” but needing to avoid it with such passion that you ban prayer in schools, hate the lovers of God and drink/drug your way into momentary blissful escape.  Turned over to the decadence of your mind to pursue every evil thought and thus unfulfilled needing to lead others toward abandon.

Weep for Jerusalem as Jesus would wish to gather all His sheep and He knows fully who will never come to Him.  Coming Judgment implies that there will be those who need to be judged, those who run from the commands of their maker, choosing to serve the gods of “self”, prideful-fallen or objects of creation.  The lures of false religion, false gods and commerce, the three things that will be destroyed in the final chapters of revelation.  They hunger for Babylon’s promise of personal godhood, unbridled passion and saturated wealth.  For this to be truth God must be a lie and so they must run from, mock or destroy all those reminders of the Truth that is the Lord of all creation.  Oh pity’s cry for those who die.  Making preparation for eternal separation from life as the wife of the Lamb.  Those who walk the hills of Zion as confident lion waiting for the Lord and Kingdom come.
